I put these together to see if they would pull a wreck monster. I'm hoping they would do the job with no additional lead. Might be on the big side so could cut the tenticles back a bit. 12" long and a 12oz bullet head up the pipe. The main hook has a good shape for hanging an assist hook on. Anyone else tried this?

I'd say damp, tracking to earth somewhere. Can be intermittent and variable. Just a thought. Higher voltage when running, just bringing in enough charge to trip. Has to be damp as my first guess.

A 'rebuild' as distinct from 'mending' should give you an as new fully tested unit. Your Insurance company should give you legal costs cover and be able to appoint a solicitor to advise you. I've noticed that when the first sturn letter goes in, things spring into life. The enginneers liability insurance will cover them (if they have this - and they should as a business) so in reality they will loose little.............. but a little face maybe. Wish you well with this.
