Did briefly manage 75% power on a pass by with JoJo for a photo opportunity. With a 150 metre start too but David Bailey got his shutter jammed or something and we were gone in a cloud of spray before he got his finger out. Still better delayed shutter opening than premature thingy whatsit - hey...... Sorry Rob, Thanks for the call and the photo - quite dramatic Only managed full power in the harbour for the launch/step-up test, but all round learnt lots about the power and handling in very varied conditions.. One thing is very clear though and that is there is so much more in reserve . She is under propped even with A9's so the only other option beyond A10's would be stepping up a gear. I'm really in no hurry to change anything at all as the current setup is soooo gentle on the engine and does everything I need. Can't see that I will NEED any more than 30 knots even if it all sounds great fun. I'd rather stick to 'phenomenal acceleration' , easy engine running and frugal fuel consumption . I still have the trim tabs to sort as one is stuck down and dragging - the other is set down to compensate. I recon I will gain a bit more top end when this is rectified. If I still want more the a cheap solution is a simple re-pitch up to A10. these 2 moves give her an easy 35 knots. do I need it??? Very reluctant to gear up as this involves an exchange lower unit @

All very new Dave, inc. power steering - but did notice it behaving poorly. It will make quite a difference when fixed but how much yet to be proven. Cheers

Martin, Thank you so much! There are a few of us who have been there and some still toiling away. Often you don't realize just how deep in the mire you are. Here's to all those who visit this dark place. Good luck!! Be patient!!

Dave Yes, curiously! How did you know? Trev
  9. Thanks Rob............... took your eye off the ball Check out the harbour vid on my last post. I have a tab stuck in the fully down position and have to compensate with the other. I recon she's good for 33 knots when fixed but a pitch up on the props would give evenn more. Currently on a 2.23 ratio but could go 1.95. Calc say over 40 knots but not sure I want that. Just happy to have the acceleration and no pressure on the engine. Thanks for the snap. I'll be looking to have a few more when she's cleaned up. Cheers

Its' been a long drawn out summer for me and at times very frustrating, but I'll not bore you all with the sordid details ..................... some of you know anyway but I just wish to move on now. Everything happens for a reason! I had the pleasure of a first sea trial after the re-power, albeit harbour bound, on Friday. I just got to say I haven't stopped grinning yet. Took her out again today. From Cobbs out and hugging the coast to Hengist. Head and then punched out against a heavy sea at just over displacement speed to the needles and south to keep an eye on you guys. Then back to base at 22 knots with a following sea. All in all a very mixed journey with some WOT some cruise and some heavy displacement during the passage. Covered over 40 miles, used 50 litres of fuel. Found a trim tab stuck fully down so had drag all the way. Harbour speed trial still interesting though. 0-29.8 knots in 12 seconds - 1nm in 1 min 50 seconds Awesome When I fix the trim tab, prop up a pitch and fit the right ratio I'll report back Happy for now though take a look at the launch/step-up video - link below
