  5. I just renewed my Cobb's pass. I'll need to use the boat a few times to feel happier about the expense. Jacqui's beginning to enjoy boating a bit more ( when the sun's shining ) so maybe we'll get some use this year. Jim

    Not a boaty question.

Our Mains comes in at the tap end of our bath ( well out of easy reach ) Then it splits and one goes upstairs to supply the rest of the house whilst the other goes to the kitchen. I can't think of any easy way to fit something that size in the system. It's looking more and more like I just have to accept that shower heads need cleaning every 1 or 2 weeks and shower units need replacing every few years ( still cheaper than salt ) Thanks to all of you for the help. And thanks for saving me time, effort and money. It looks like I'm gonna give it a miss. Jim
  15. Pure Magic Steve. Very well done on organising this. Glad it all went well. Chris: well done on the safety boat duties, but going around with sausage sarnies . . . . . . . . You've earned a gold star ! Sorry I couldn't have come over and watched. Jim

    Not a boaty question.

So: Add salt to everything except drinking water ! Does adding salt cause more of a problem than not adding salt ? - Salt is very corrosive. How much salt does it add ? Can you drink it ? Can you taste it ? Thanks very much for the help fellas. I don't mind spending the money if I have to but it looks as if you've saved me a few quid here. I'm trying to think how and where I could add one ? ? ? - - - Hmmmmmm ! Cheers. Jim
  17. Happy Birthday Pegleg. Not so good weather-wise but hope you've enjoyed it anyway.
  18. Hi everyone, We live in a crap water area. I'm thinking of installing an electronic water softener just upstream of our shower. It would be connected to the shower's mains power switch so it would only be on when the shower is on. I can live with the scale in the kettle etc. But the shower keep blocking is " doing my head in " Filters and salt additives just sound like more hassle. Has anyone had any experience of these softeners ? - - - - - Do they work ? Helllllllllllllllllllllllllllp Jim

    Scuppers

My little Tiddler has a self draining deck but only for light people. It connects to the outlet with a hose and has a stopcock to close it. This can be opened when up on the plane if needed. Hope this helps. Jim
  21. Hi Dave, Sorry she's got to go. I looked at her with a view to buying half so we could share the fees. Jacqui was not impressed so I didn't pursue it. Have you thought of sharing ? There may be someone in the club who would be willing and you would be happy to share with ? ? ? ? Just a thought. Jim

    Happy Birthday

Yes Stuie, It was Tiddler's first trip out in months. We left the rods at home and took the Grand Kids for a little trip up Wareham river. What a beautiful day and well sheltered from that cold breeze. - - - Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes. Yes it's the BIG 60 ! It doesn't seem possible but yes - - - - I'm 60. There was some talk of growing up and acting my age - - - - - - Nah ! I can't be doing with that. There has been Fudge and cakes and chocolate and a couple of beers. See you out there. Jim
