Hi everyone, We live in a crap water area. I'm thinking of installing an electronic water softener just upstream of our shower. It would be connected to the shower's mains power switch so it would only be on when the shower is on. I can live with the scale in the kettle etc. But the shower keep blocking is " doing my head in " Filters and salt additives just sound like more hassle. Has anyone had any experience of these softeners ? - - - - - Do they work ? Helllllllllllllllllllllllllllp Jim

My little Tiddler has a self draining deck but only for light people. It connects to the outlet with a hose and has a stopcock to close it. This can be opened when up on the plane if needed. Hope this helps. Jim

Hi Dave, Sorry she's got to go. I looked at her with a view to buying half so we could share the fees. Jacqui was not impressed so I didn't pursue it. Have you thought of sharing ? Yes Stuie, It was Tiddler's first trip out in months. We left the rods at home and took the Grand Kids for a little trip up Wareham river. What a beautiful day and well sheltered from that cold breeze. - - - Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes. Yes it's the BIG 60 ! It doesn't seem possible but yes - - - - I'm 60. There was some talk of growing up and acting my age - - - - - - Nah ! I can't be doing with that. There has been Fudge and cakes and chocolate and a couple of beers. See you out there. Jim

Hi Gazza, You may not believe in mumbo jumbo but probably not a good idea to change the boat's name. People in the club who have changed names have been plagued by bad luck - - - - - - - - - - - Some might argue that people who have not changed names have also been plagued by bad luck. My view - - - - - I can find plenty of bad luck without going looking for it. All the best. Jim

I went to Holyhead to pick up Tiddler. We just made a weekend of it and called it a treat for Jacqui It's just miles - - - - - with a decent car, miles are not a problem. Jim

Speak to Arran at Absolute Aqua.co.uk Powerboat level 2 is a basic boating course for not much money. I put my 13 year old Grandson and my wife on it last year. They are now confident and competent of taking charge of my boat. If you have no experience, get out with other boaters as crew to find your sea legs. Just chip in towards their expenses for the day. There's some very experienced members willing to share their knowledge. Jim

Fantastic boat @ 16½ feet. Yes you need a braked trailer but if you have one with a flushing system for the brakes it's not a problem. I sold mine because I'm old and fat and with my dodgy knees, it was a bit too heavy for me to push around on the trailer. As Brian said, you need a decent engine. Don't let anyone tell you a 50 is big enough - - - it's not. You need a 70 to 80 so you can cruise without working the engine. They must be the most poular boat of their size in this country and with good reason. Oh yes - - - and Warrior aftersales and help are first class. Jim

My grand kids are only here for a week from next Saturday so won't be able to join in the fun. But I'd be happy to add to the prize table. I could chuck in a £20.00 voucher from a tackle shop or something. Jim

Go and live in Brixham. It's cheap mooring there. If you do find anything cheap ( and good ) in this area let me know ! !. Happy hunting Retro. Mine stays on a trailer because of the cost.
