  1. Happy Birthday Graham. Hope it's been good. Too windy for boating so cake and beer would be required. Jim
  2. Gimp is a free photo editor similar to Adobe photoshop. It was Rob who posted info on it on here a few years ago. Yet another learning curve that requires Doombar ( or equivalent )
  3. I had a smaller but similar style boat with that type of window. Previous owners used to sit on the roof. That broke the pillars and the windows were forever falling out. I plated the pillars with thick stainless and glued & bolted new windows. Sorted. Glad you got home safe ! Did you have spare underpants on board ?

    Tiddler out again.

    Naughty !
  5. Found this: What is HEIC? HEIC is the file format name Apple has chosen for the new HEIF standard. HEIF stands for High Efficiency Image Format, and, as the name suggests, is a more streamlined way to store image files. Using advanced, modern compression methods it allows digital photographs to be created in smaller files sizes, all while retaining higher image quality than its JPEG alternative. So ! Cool old Grandad's got a modern iphone and the rest of us CODGERS need to catch up. I'd never heard of it as I'm an android If it's any help I opened with GIMP and then exported as a .jpeg so the rest of us could see it. Hope this helps. Jim
  6. Cheers Kev.
  7. Well Kev, I had never heard of .HEIC files. Got it sorted. Hope this is what you wanted to achieve. Well done Grandad. Glad you managed to get out.

    Tiddler out again.

Yeah Jacqui doesn't get much free time but she really seems to be enjoying it. I'm just happy to be out on the water in lovely weather with the woman I love. ♥️

    Tiddler out again.

We got out again last Friday. On the water for 2 ish Back in for 6:30 ish Jacqui had 3 mackerel and some fat bloke nicked one of them for bait. I had 4 doggies and what I think was a Thornback. Big spikes on his back which made my fingers bleed. Lesson learned ! We both got a bit tanned and thoroughly enjoyed it. This weather's great for boating and fishing but all those jobs will sneak up on me later in the year. Ah well! Enjoy it while we can.
  10. In case anyone missed this:

  11. Brilliant! Never be afraid to post on here. It's good to see how it's going and we're proud to do our little bit to help. Thanks. Jim
  12. Sounds like lack of fuel to me Hooky ? ? ? ? Glad you got out . . . . . and back again safely.

    Zoo

    What do you call a Mexican streaker ? . . . . . . . . . . Say it in a Mexican voice. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. Seen your Willy.
  14. If all goes well . . . . . . . when you get back . . . get someone to take a photo of the grin on your face whilst standing in front of the boat. If no one about it'll have to be a selfie

    Zoo

I went to the zoo yesterday and saw a baguette in a cage. The zookeeper told me it was bread in captivity.
  16. Are you taking anyone with you ? A buddy boat would be good. Hope all goes well Hooky. Jim
  17. Quote Charlie Yes Charlie I suddenly thought about that this morning. GO PRO software is designed to only work with GO PRO video. It's also very limited in what it does. I found it OK for very short film but used to crash for anything over 5 minutes or so. I checked the error codes on line and it just seems to be the way it is. I think I did a cheat on the non GO PRO films by opening them. Not editing and then producing a film which seemed to mark them as GO PRO ? ? If you knew which properties to edit you may get around it that way. Or you could buy a real program: https://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/search-keywords/xx_xx_xx_xx_xx/cyberlink-powerdirector-16/xx-criteria.html There are lots of different programs and places to buy from so do some research. If anyone knows of a free and easy program could you post on here...................... I think there's a Windows program ( Posted by Rob ) ? ? I tried it but it's very basic. Found this: https://www.techradar.com/news/the-best-free-windows-movie-maker-alternative Jim
  18. Oh and I nearly fogot . . . . .you can copy these to you phone so when your wife is trying on some new shoes or something you can watch one of these.
  19. You're in luck Charlie: I just looked at that youtube tutorial. Not sure it's one of the better ones so I checked my Hard drive: I've not yet deleted a load of them that I downloaded years ago. I'm writing them to a disk for you . . . . . . all 41 of them ( That's a lot of Doombar you'll have to consume ) Now if anyone else wants a copy of this disk please shout because I'm gonna delete them. ( Am I going to regret this ? ) As Charlie said . . . . can a moderator move this to a separate thread please? Ta. Jim
  20. This sort of thing Charlie: Bottle of Doombar in one hand . . . . mouse in the other ! No magic wand just spending the time with it. GOPRO studio video editor is free on the " T' internet " But as Rob said they are all computer power hungry. It takes me quite a while with the drone films. I use Cyberlink Powedirector but that's one you have to buy. Good luck and enjoy the beer.
  21. It would not be any easier as an employee Martin Enjoy the fishing Mike.
  22. Welcome to the club Nick. I know Ridge Wharf. My Dad had a yacht at Redcliffe many years ago. We went for a " Jolly " up Wareham river in Tiddler recently. Ahhhh memories. Jim
  23. My school reports always said the same thing. . . . . . Jim must try Harder. Well. . . . It worked. As Tony & Martin said. . . I'm very trying !
  24. Every day's a holiday at our place Tony . . . . . . . . . . or so my Boss tells me ! I must admit though . . . . . . . the temptation was there but I'm trying to be good. Or at least . . . . . . I'm trying ! ! !
  25. It's always windier on the water. Better luck next time.
