I've been thinking about it for a long time. Hard to justify the expense if I only go out a couple of times a year

I DID say you'd get plenty of opinions. Looks like you can hang on to your wallet a bit longer.

Indeed it is Charlie and if our wives enjoy it that's great. Happy wife = Happy life I'm really glad that we're making the time to get out. This weather's great too ! Shame about work ! ! ! !

You have Indeed started something. We all have our views and I guess you'll get plenty! Then you just have to decide ( making sure your wife is included )

I think it's a record for Me Terry. I think that's 6 times already this year.

Neil, I like the Parker. Jacqui doesn't. I had to force her onto a Barracuda7 cos she didn't like the look of it. but she was very impressed by the stability. She's still not nodding her head yet though ! Mick, I do enjoy a beer or five ( seven ) but not when I'm driving or boating. Ice cream's just Luuuuuuuuuuvly.

Tiddler goes to Wareham. Friday was another scorcher so we decided not to waste it. We launched at 2:30 ish and headed up the Wareham channel. With a 12 mph easterly and only a 13 foot boat I thought that going outside the harbour was probably not a good idea. ( I did point out that if we had a Barracuda it would be fine ) We headed towards Wareham at a leisurely pace. When we reached the river entrance we were plagued by biting, blood sucking flies. I looked on line and thought they looked like Blandford Flies but we've not come up in lumps so probably not ! We got to the quay, lowered the rod tubes and carried on up stream . . . . . Past everyone's favourite big house. We went all the way to the bypass before turning back. We stopped at the quay and Jacqui bought us an ice cream. When we left we were against the breeze so no problem with flies. After a while I nagged at Jacqui to take the helm ( she's done the level 2 ) but with it being so rare that we go out she loses her confidence. We went outside of the harbour and although it wasn't a problem for Tiddler it just makes it uncomfortable so we turned back. Jacqui was in charge until we were nearly back to the launching area and it got very busy. We had no rods with us so it was just a " Jolly " And very nice it was too.

I'd have taken you up on that Martin. Been out with Jacqui on the Tiddler today. Don't want to overdo it ! Have a great day out you two. If any new members fancy a day out with a couple of " old pros " Martin & Dean are great. Jim

My Brother popped over for a coffee this evening. He's been sunning himself in the harbour on an inflatable this afternoon. I've decided he's half way to being one of the Idle Rich. All he needs now is some MONEY ! Enjoy your day Terry. Jim

Tiddler got out on Saturday and Jacqui managed a few. We were out for hours just drifting across the bay. A few Mackerel, Scad, Gurnard & Bream.

Pleased it all went well Steve. I didn't get a lot of dangling time but here's my catch. I had to chase a few boats & jet skis down and was very happy with Tiddler's speed. A couple got through wile I was practicing with my GPS or taking a leak but I stopped most of them. The Misty stuff seemed to come & go as the day went on. Jim

Hi Hooky, Brass will expand quickly with heat. Aluminium will expand more & quicker. In my old motorbike days . . . . Chucking stuff in the oven ( when wifey's not looking ) can loosen things quite well. You need big thick welders gloves. The gloves are thick . . . . not the welder Rob ! Always worth a go. Jim
