Go easy on that Vodka old fella.
  4. Bloody hell ! He's done that before I think. Giving it a prod with a little fishing net won't bother it but them things Bite ! We had a couple when I worked at Coventry Zoo ( years ago ) we were under strict instructions to stay well clear of them.

    Tiddler out again.

Give & take indeed Neil. It's easy to P*** them off but it's a long road back once you've done it ! Besides I enjoyed myself at IKEA ( but I'd never admit it ) Probably just refreshing my memory the best route for the Boat Show ! Jim

    Tiddler out again.

Looking at the book. I'm going with Sand-smelt ? So fish for the day: Pollack, Sand-smelt, Mackerel.
  7. Tiddler out again. Jacqui thought we could go out mid week but decided on Friday instead. Then we got the weather warning for thunderstorms for Friday. Then on Thursday afternoon Jacqui informed me that they'd changed their minds again. We were on the water by about 3:00 pm and headed across the harbour. It was windier than I expected. We saw several charter boats inside the harbour which made us wonder what it was like outside ? ? ? It was a little lumpy outside but nothing too bad for us. The breeze was SSW so I said it would be flat in Studland. Well I've never fished Studland bay before and probably won't again although it was lovely in the sunshine on a calm sea. It was about 12ft deep, flat sandy bottom & no fish. After a couple of hours relaxing Jacqui decided we should move to where the fish are. I explained the by now the breeze was in a line with Ballard & Old harry so once we were in line with them it would get lumpier. That's OK she said. We headed out to the " Secret mackerel mark " ( Just further out where the water was a bit deeper. ) She was straight into the fish from the start. Many wriggling off the hook before being boated so back in to get some more. Within a few minutes we had about 10 so we stopped. That's plenty for the table. Back into Studland to clean the fish and another peaceful and fruitless drift in the warm sunshine & cool breeze. The chain ferry entrance area was quite turbulent but nothing for the Tiddler to worry about. As we got further in we could see that it was quite cloudy over the land a remarked on our lovely afternoon afloat! Jacqui picked up this little fella in the harbour and I have no Idea what it is. I'll get the book out and try to find it. Saturday when she came back from her Mum's she had a sandwich for lunch and whilst we were talking she said " we ought to go to IKEA." Well her face was a picture when I said " OK then let's go ! " Well she comes out on the boat with Me so it's the least I could do ! I spent the afternoon " OOOing & Pointing " had some lovely meatballs and got home about 9 ish . . . . . . Lovely ! Jim
  8. Is that the leaky seal you had on your gearbox Tony ?
  9. Happy Birthday Mick. The big 65 eh? Does this mean you can give it all up and become a man of leisure? Go fishing mid week when it's peaceful? Or will you keep going cos you love it so much ? Whatever you're doing .. . . . . Enjoy it ! Jim

Very nice Mr. Trev. Glad you managed to get a day out. And quite a special one too.
  11. Hi welcome to the club. Good advice as always from Rob. Jim
  12. Indeed Mike ! I'd seriously consider a share but am unable to do so at the moment. Jacqui asked yesterday if we were going out this evening but I said no. We wouldn't have got on the water before 6:45 to 7:00 If I had some dosh I'd love a bigger boat on a dry stack or maybe a pontoon. We were going to go out on Friday but not wise taking a lady out in Thunder storms. It could put her off !. Good luck Ray but be careful of spending all your money on a bucketful of trouble. Jim
  13. Very good advice. The " but I want it now ! " is what us boys tend to do ! Followed by . . . . . . " Why the Bl**dy hell didn't I listen " But as Martin said. " It's up to you " When a woman says " It's up to you " it means " Don't you flipping dare " Jim ( Tiddler )
  14. Leave the money in the bank and save up !

    Course adventure

Ah the " good old days " up in Coventry ! Coventry Canal, Hawksbury canal, Wyken slough. Oh how I remember getting up early to go and catch Shopping Trolleys I never forget how lucky I am to be in Poole.
  16. It's OK Jerry I know where he lives. I can just see his wife's face when she spots them in his Garden.
  17. Firstly: Thanks Martin for another fantastic day out on Madness. The weather Gods were smiling too. Flat calm and sunshine. Martin had the 2 Blondes very close together and in a strong tide he was " Cream crackered " They looked a lot bigger than mine on the way up but turned out to be a bit smaller.
  18. Let's hope so Martin. The salt soon gets through that paint.
  19. Madness will be fishing on Sunday Jim will be one of the crew.
  20. Wicked ! I'm going out on Madness ! I'm going out on Madness ! I'm going out on Madness ! I'm going out on Madness ! I'm going out on Madness ! Way Heyyyyyyy !
  21. We Hey ! Got room for a little fella Martin ?
  22. I looked on line for something to stop the new ones rusting. Couldn't find anything so thought I'd try this: Maybe it will & maybe it won't. In a few years time we can look back & see how they are resisting the salty stuff. See the shiny new wheels And after one coat.
  23. Bargain ? . . . or . . Old Tat ? Free. My old Trailer wheels off Tiddler. They're 10" rims and 4" hole centres. I'm confident they are not bad enough to become structurally unsound . . . . . .Yet. They may be better than the ones you've got ? I've bought new ones £90 So if they're any good to a member . . . . . they're FREE. or I can take to the tip next time I go. They're about 6 years old and yes I did hose down after each trip. I can lend some rust eater stuff & Zinc paint & Hammerite underbody coating to anyone who takes them on. I bought this for my new ones.:) Anyway . . . . FREE. Jim
