My lifeboat photos are not as good as Tony's Mine are videos which need editing but here's a couple of pictures to be going on with. I'll get the videos edited ASAP but it all takes time. Jim

I tip my hat to you and all who are involved with the lifeboats Derek. But seeing what is going and what is replacing it doesn't fill a simple fella like me with confidence. By the way. I have some good film of the lifeboat leaving Poole escorted by two smaller craft. I'll post when Iv'e cut & spliced the best bits. Jim

I saw the replacement on the news. Hmmmm ! Something that can handle all sorts of weather replaced by a RUBBER DINGHY ! I wonder if the people that made the decision have been out in stormy weather saving lives in a flipping rubber dinghy ? ? ? ? And before anyone asks ! ! ! No I have not. I'm not brave enough. Jim

Asked my mate. His Dad's name was Ron Turner just in case any of you older guys remember him.

Any of you old RNLI guys remember a Mr. Turner ( don't know his first name ) Based in Poole and worked on the design of the boats ? I currently work with one of his sons. I managed to find a newspaper article about the Penlee lifeboat disaster with a picture of his Dad examining the wreckage on the beach. More lifeboat history ! Oh yes . . . my mate used to go to the workshops with his Dad where the boats were being built and was allowed to climb all over them ! ! No health & safety. He just learned to Hold On ! ! Jim

I agree with a total ban for a few years. Letting commercials take them with no way to police it is absolute bo**o*ks. And us get 1 per day for part of the year is unfair. Total ban from boat & shore and strict policing in my view. Sometimes when you've overdone it you need to take the medicine even if it does taste horrible. ( as my Dad used to say " if it tastes horrible it means it's working " ) Jim

I thought the only Tuna around here was on Tesco's shelf ! ! We always say that the larger Mackerel are good fun on light gear. I'm trying to multiply that up in my head to the size of fish you're looking at. WOW ! I hope you get at least one each. Good luck. Jim
