Ouch........but he will do anything to get "catch of the month"

With a slight window I managed to get out for a couple of hours and baits down at four. Was only fishing light with quiver tips and spinning rods and bream rigs,bream and pollack straight away with various wrasse.Then tried small strips of macky on my 10ft 10-35g spinning rod with a moon fleet bream rig on and went and made a cuppa ,when made I looked round and line was stripping off the bait runner.I then had one hell of an enjoyable fight for 15 mins or so with the 10lb mono whistling away and me thinking I'm not going to see this but eventually I did and after what seemed an age from seeing it to the net a lovely 14.5lb undulate which once quickly weighed I put back ASAP as it must of been worn out.I was very pleased with landing it on that gear and impressed at Ian's rig.I caught 11 species in the three hours and knocked it on the head when I got overwhelmed with pout. Oh and on the way back in at a steady 26knts I jumped out of my skin.........BANG....................... And my seat sunk down to its stop So I made like a midget got two cushions and put them on the seat Stipped out when back and the airbag was split .....that's boats Nige

After a phone call from a mate Gary..thanks Dan,he told me that a lot of American/Canadian built boats have a small filter fitted to the tank pickup because they normally fit petrol engines. So after work in a bit of rain Stripped out and Bingo a tiny little gauze fitted to the end which was covered in small particles.....removed and launched . Rebuilt and running I just had to try it And it is fine again in fact better than fine it's faster Just have to sort the weather now otherwise I might have to use it to get to work Thanks for the phone calls and advice guys Nige

Sorry but at this moment in time Wishin Too is not fit to go. I have a serious lack of power under load and I'm starting to think it may be related to the leg,changed pre and engine fuel filters but can not get over 16knts.Rev out of gear to over 4k but underway lucky to get 2500revs and then it fluctuates badly. I will spend as much time as I can trying different things and then test but it takes at least 15/20 mins to get out to the open sea then same time to get back in so a slow process. Will update through the week. Nige I don't think I was destined to get to Alderney this year
