I got up early fuelled the boat cooked breakfast (dad refusing to leave his bunk). Briefly roused him to help me cast off then he was straight back to bed. Then i caught all the bait. Then watched dad use my bloody rod to catch all the fish With the added plesure of a conger making a beeline for my groin! By the end of the day i wouldnt have been suprised if the tope took the doggy. To cap it all i cracked the screen on my camera as well

Nice one martin. We hit the ray mark you gave us hit mrs &mr 10lb thorny a 13lb undulate and a 2olb eel. Next mark doggy hooked with a massive tope folowing it up

Hi martin, Still not sur if im going but if no crew emerges we could all go one either AWOHL or Freeboyz (or just u and dad)

On the marine police , i was chatting too the manager of portland marina regarding the olympics and 150 police ribs will be there in the summer (for three months not just while the event is on) so i wouldnt expect any marine police precense in poole for a while.

Sorry to hear about the damage to the boat hope its easily fixed. Freeboyz will be out and about friday sat & sun. We will probably be sleeping on board in portland marina sat night - looking at whats left of the window late saturday and early sat are likely to be best times- so if your in portland marina we may see you Alun.

Sums it up Rob. Hugely unlikely i can do the reserve date. Its not really the fishing i will miss its the social side.

Nige No shame in a difficult first mooring, we made a bit of a pig of it on freeboyz first time ( did have a huge crosswind and didnt ajust quick enough) you will pick it up quickly

Nice fishing. We had a similar bad experience with spiderwyre braid and wouldnt recomend it. The advantage of braid is it doesnt stretch and is much finner so you can use much smaller leads in deep water Generaly i dont bother sorting tangles if the tackle is onboard, a quick slash and retie and you are back fishing

No trip for freeboyz tommorrow so the run stops at 9 conseculative saturdays. Hopefully pick it up again next weekend
