  1. With the weather being pretty unpleasant over the last couple of weeks I hope we will definitely hold the Competition on the 24th and 25th even if we have to confine it to the harbour. This will make it an even more level playing field for all the different boats in the club. Keep the enthusiasm going and beat the winter blues!!!
  2. Have great day🍻
  3. First Prize to be won by different anglers but you can enter both competitions. Only fish on one nominated day. 4. Hi Andy, I 100% agree with what Martin sayes, however!!! I had a little argument with a chain, which took a horrendous gash out of the corner of my boat. I spent a bit of time watching YouTube videos and LOTS more time getting a colour match. Practiced on an old dinghy I have and have done an end result that the boat builder really struggled to find the mend. It’s not rocket science and I found it really satisfying, but I do have the time. The finished picture is before final wet and dry and polish, which did make a big difference. Good luck!!
  5. I hope to Stuie, don’t know where or what yet👍👍

  14. 🍻🍻have a good one👍
  15. Someone turn the tide down!
  16. Never judge a book by its cover!! I really used the anchor hard yesterday, it cut the mega duty cable ties twice when coming over the roller so still not there. I think I will have to bite the bullet and go to a rigger like Steve has. Martin if you would like to try my mark one version your very welcome.
  17. I feel certain the chain will work, especially if I can drill a hole big enough to take a cable tie half way down the shank of the anchor ( just to tight to spend more money at the moment!!) My biggest problem is the anchor sits the right way with the swivel, it is the “toe” or point of the anchor hits the roller and trips it then, so IF I can fix the chain on the underside of the anchor it will come in every time. I assumed this was the same issue we all have?
  18. Thankyou for spelling correction! Ok mine has also, I think I am winning but not 100% like you!
  19. Well done Steve, has your bow roller got a “channel or grove” cut in it or is it smooth concave face? I think my attempts cost me at least £60 so good for you🙄🙄🤣🤣
  20. Looks good Mike, what weight anchor do you have and rough size is your boat? Jerry
  21. Having now used the anchor a couple of times it is working much better than it has done previously but still not 100%🙄 A little more tweaking and I hope I will sort it, I might try and get a hole drilled on the “bottom” of the anchor, enough to keep the chain cable tie underneath so it runs up over the roller ALL the time. The first photo is the wire, I could silver solder the ends but just concerned about the u bolts, catching and or slipping. The second two show the present set up with chain and swivel. If I could keep the chain running along the bottom of the “shank” of the anchor I feel sure it will work.
  22. Sorry we have had no electric/internet for 48hrs😡😡 Ok, my home made SS wire trip DID work, however the shrink tube/wrap came adrift quickly, this could of been remedied but I wasn’t happy with the SS u bolts which were very close to catching when coming to rest on the fore deck. Now I have cut a piece of chain two inches longer than the spine of the Bruce. I have put the SS swivel back. I cable tie the chain half way down the bottom of the spine and cable tie the point end of the anchor. This has worked well, it still needs some polish but is working. When I next get to the boat I will take some pictures as it’s difficult to describe. I still believe a larger front roller might sort the problem.
  23. Happy birthday🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
