    Day 2

Today getting the boat out and away went to plan! and we were first boat out on the mark. It was a long wait for our first bite and its sods law I hooked a monster (or it felt like it) on my whiting rod and after a brief fight it bit through my 30 lb trace. Then another long wait until almost last knockings when we had a brief flurry, first up a 19lb 6oz cod to me followed by a 7lb cod to my crew, followed by a modest conger! It was then a high speed dash across the bay to get in the run by 3.30. again we only got camcorder footage(Almost got a DVD now!) and a film camera, so got some pics in the back yard on a digital camera ill post soon before I get the others developed. there certainly some cod out there this year! Day 1

Well After finding my battery still flat this morning I had a plan of Action, a quick early morning dash to mudeford to launch the boat then across Bournemouth to Bournemouth battery centre. then back to the boat with a shiny new battery , saw us set of to the needles 4 hours behind schedule! Got to my numbers to find the only 5 boats that we could see out there huddled round them. dropped on the edge of the pack for the last of the flood and with in 10 minutes I was battling a conger. The slack was quiet and just as the tide started to build my rod was bent double in the holder, and as my first cod gave me the run around my other rod doubled over as it neared the surface! we quickly scooped the first in the net and I grabbed the second rod of mark and this was another good cod and soon that too was flapping in the net. A fine brace of 18lb 8oz and 20lb 8oz we got a lot of the action on camcorder but only a film camera for the stills today. so photos will follow as soon as i scan them A quick move inshore to escape the tide saw one more conger to give the crew some action! then home by 3.30. I hope tomorrow is as good!
  6. Weather looks like its holding for the next two days I was just getting the boat ready and discovered my batteries flat, its on charge and Ive got my fingers crossed its going to charge OK or I'm up a certain creek in the morning
  7. Gordon I'll take you up on your offer,If its still available? I was going with Adam but he forgot he's going to Egypt! so I was in the hunt for crew as well. I think I may just Qualify on your requirements of crew But haven't got a clue where to find a 5lb flounder! James

  9. Hi all I'm planning to go out cod fishing (At last!) on monday and Tuesday from Christchurch and if the current weather forecast holds it should be OK out there, big tides tho. If not, flounder in the harbour,I haven't had the boat out for soooooo long I'm wetting a line no matter what the weather!! , any one else heading out? James

  14. you do get a few in the harbour, if you think 1m of water on feathers is unbelievable, I had one near Poole bridge a couple of weeks ago on a live smelt after bass!!, at about midnight!!! also while prawning at fisherman's dock in January a lad turned up with a spinner and first cast pulled out a mackerel, I went over a to have a look in shock and he said he gets them fairly often. James
  15. Hi Chaps Here's that Huss from Thursday night
  16. Hi Paul I was out there last night chasing eels! Only had 2 on the boat biggest a modest 30 no whackers by ledge standards, but did snare a monster bully, to my rod this time 12lb 8oz was the weight, photo to follow! Watch out there tonight Paul the wind whipped up from nowhere last night as the flood tide built and with wind against tide we were being slopped about all over the place and it was pretty much unfishable!!. So we came inshore to find some shelter and there wasn't a breath of wind! Would love to come out again tonight but its the FPO turn to go out so I'm babysitting Tight lines James
  17. happy Birthday Paul James

no wonder you didn't get any sole! I'm surprised there are any there at all with that kind of pressure on such a localised mark ...there not the sort of fish that get returned very often great haul of fish there Al better luck next time Alun James

  20. I was fishing the run a couple of days ago at Christchurch and saw a kayak come in late at night! was that you zed? James
  21. Done James
  22. They would be better off looking closer to home, I regularly spot a certain trawler well inside the 6 mile limit in Poole bay!
  23. Hi Andy We struggled for the sole to, not one! When we had 5 from the shore the night before!! Ive done well on the sole before even when the boat is swinging, i think there just not many sole around anymore or they are very close in. I'm going to have one more go at them before I hang up my size 4's!!!! James
