Well done chaps !! .... a bit better than us. Ian and I took JV to Car Park area, and were suprised how few boats were out. I think we were a bit further out than the rest, which was fine at the start, on the end of flood, but by 11.30 - 12 the ebb was running, the wind had got up and it was not so much fun pulling up dogs and pout and big leads. Rather than go into the Island, decided to try another mark, closer to home...... this was much more comfortable and did produce one nice cod to me.......just under 19 lbs. Looking forward to next trip out there....on a calmer day and smaller tide!

Dan, If you are going from Lymo....... you should be fine sticking to the mainland side and going up to Sowley \ Lepe Sign in first at Christchurch, and you could be in with a good chance of a prize in the comp......if you can get back to Cobbs in time for weigh-in. Small [ish] tides should make that area a good bet !!

I downloaded it in a min or so........but it isn't the most rivetting read !! Full of possible outcomes ..but little real substance ... unless you are planning some beam trawling!!

I was fishing Weymouth \ Shambles way today ......loads of boats enjoying the super weather. Tides dictated a varied approach......... bassing in the Race to start, then on to bream mark.........before getting the big ragworms out for the plaice. We got a good spell of action in the short tide-window; 6 to me , with best at 1 lb 12 oz. Then on to the banks to finish the day looking for the bigger flatties; no turbot today, but I did get two brill, with the better one weighing 4 lb 10 oz. Great day to be out....... Shame Adam was too unwell to join us .... and Bob didn't quite get his gear together !! [ but I'm not saying any more on that !!!] ....but he will be more focussed next week [if Open gets under way!]. Alun.

Well done Adam..........great report, super pics and excellent skippering! Agreed on 2012........let's just pick a nice smooth couple of days...[for a change!!]. Really enjoyed the fishing.... the company .. and general banter. I thought the marina \ location \ facilities made the trip hassle-free and convenient ...just a few paces from the centre of Cherbourg. Alun. PS....judging by how I feel today, I know why it's called 'Wrecking' !!
