Hi Mike, were they on the Shambles or off on the mussel beds?
Our two on Fri were at the latter......proof was inside.... stuffed with little mussels!
Alun.
crew now sorted. .......Gordon H. will be joining me on flattie hunt ....and hoping for more success than last time 2 weeks ago !
Expect to be out there about 9 and will have Channel 6 open.
John.......... waders for launching ! Water too cold still for paddling !
With the good forecast, suitable tide and lack of bream to date this end, thought of trailing Gastro down to Portland and fish the Shambles.
Haven't heard back from my crew yet [ and am away from here until tom early eve !] If anyone wants to be 1st reserve post here and I'll get back to you about 6ish tom eve.
I have worms..........but no mackerel........ crew to supply !!
Crew needs waders.
Alun.
Hi Fly fishers........
my bro-in-law has some Orvis tackle for sale
He has a light 3 wt rod and reel........powermatrix 10 and battenkill reel
loaded with appropriate line. Also a cheaper 7\8 wt rod and reel
Also some of those fancy wading boots with felt soles brand new size 10 and other bits of gear.
He bought them in Canada when he lived there intending to learn to fly-fish, but has subsequently injured his shoulder and can't cast.
My guess is they are unused.
I think he is looking for
Hi Craig........Hope you've had / are having a good day ... lovely weather for doing something [??]
Happy Birthday.......and Many Happy Returns......... see you Sat.

Alun.
Many Happy Returns Mark.
I'm sure you won't be fishing today !! ... but , perhaps, you'll get more trips in in the next year than you did since last birthday ??
Have a good day and HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Best wishes,
Alun.
Been catching flounders........but not any more !!!
Lots last week...... then 4 on this Weds...but getting smaller...... just one tiddler today !!
One more trip over weekend........ to confirm they've gone !
Alun.
Almost gone [?????] !! .........short session today...... only 4, with 2 of those being tiddlers !!
Could have been the quantity of mucky river water coming down and hordes of crabs.
Will give it another go on Fri to see if this is the end of the season.
Alun.
Why didn't you use this from after the event??

"do you eat the roe alun?"
.....sometimes !! the soft roe has a better texture [creamy!]; the hard roe can be a dry & gritty texture.
The fish is better........and to honest, recently we've had so much. I haven't bothered with the roe.
........all different soon !
