  1. Sunday's weather not looking so good now !! .......esp for venturing further out. Might just be OK inshore. ........BUT...... it could be all different tomorrow [???]
  2. I agree with all above.......... but the confines \ rock and roll of open boat means..... more containers = more chance of spills and \or rapidly cold drink !! I make a flask putting cool milk onto instant coffee, then adding boiling water..... this warms coffee up rather than milk cooling it down. Good for the morning............ by later in the day all tastes pretty rank !!
  3. Yes............ but I might be bassing !!

    Live Bait Bucket

Well done Rob !! I simply use a separate bucket for each. Your method would reduce the weight of water sloshing about, Will you be going into business? I'll take a 2nd 'prototype ' to test !! ....or swap for some clawed beasts. cheers, Alun.

  14. Before we get to Sunday's comp.......... ......can someone give a ruling about whether these rays can be taken? Having enjoyed the one I caught in the OPen comp., I would enjoy another if one came aboard on Sunday [ as I'm sure Craig would as well!!].........but I don't want to transgress any conservation rulings. Can we take Undulate Rays ? Y or N ?? Alun.

    Fish ID

I caught this little fish whilst feathering for bait ........ at first I thought it was a smelt and popped in the bucket. ... in case I was desperate [ it was very small !!] Watching it swim about I began to doubt it was a smelt.... it had a rounded snout and when gulping, it clearly had a mouth that started a bit back from the nose and a very , VERY big gape !! Anyone know what this is ?? I studied Biology and have only seen things like this trawled upfrom very deep water !! I have never seen anything like this inshore. Caught over Christchurch Ledge in about 5 m of water.... the red marks are not spots; it's where it got hooked on one of the other small feathers....it was just silvery.
