  1. I think you will find its the Poole Sea Angling Cod comp on the 27th unless there are 2 comps Martin Sorry, my mistake. I thought wessex angling and poole angling were the same place. Is it being sponsored by Wessex possibly??
  2. the Wessex Angling cod comp is the 27th. If its this sunday (20th) i intend being there.
  3. car park is free on Sunday from 10.30 till 4.30 for Xmas shoppers.
  4. I will be out on the 20th too Zippy ...... I just gotta master this "staying upright" bit yet :-)
  5. I would absolutely love to Charlie, but I am not sure my tummy could cope with the swell at the moment.
  6. deleted post. Sorry that didn't sound very nice when i read it back.
  7. Superb day Zippy..... great bunch of blokes (and women) very very well done for your organising it and thanks too. I have not laughed so much for years.
  8. ha ha, thanks PAUL!!!! I did get better and didnt fall in again, but i couldn't stop laughing when i kept falling off the thing while trying to get back on. It was MUCH harder physically than I expected but hopefully if i leave out a couple of the MacDonnalds a week and start doing some physical work rather than just sit at a desk all the time maybe I will get better. The Kayak guys were brilliant out there today and I am sure everyone had a great time. Incidentally it was a PBSAC club member that won the superb signed rod and case. Zippy picked it up on their behalf.

    OOhh Dear !!

you need to get out more pirky
  10. It doesn't sound good, but fingers crossed for a happy conclusion.
  11. That was the route i took Zippy, but with the fleece on i just could not bend enough to get my arms and head in. I will do some warm up excercises and aerobics before trying again ..... maybe lose a litttle weight round the middle too
  12. Thank you overrun, I am looking forward to playing on it ...... maybe you Kayak guys could give me another bit of advice (that I WILL take this time). I have today bought myself a crewsaver hyperdrypro front zip dry suit ....... how do I get it on???? If I put my feet and legs in first I cant get my head in and if i put my head and arms in I cant get me bloody legs in!!!! ..... I have looked like a complete twonk tonight and am sweating now from the effort! Edit...... Its ok I have done it now ..... Dunno if i will ever get it off again tho! Hopefully I will see some of yuou Thursday at the meeting (I will be the one with a dry suit on) or on Saturday at Hamworthy
  13. As I mentioned earlier Martin, I am a bit of an impulse buyer. Had I have waited any longer I would probably have found something else to spend my money on and would be buying a para glider or something else just as silly. I think a fishing kayak is a safe bet and will keep me occupied for a little while
  14. woo hoo, its looking like 'er indoors has relented and is allowing me to play Saturday :-). I have a feeling its gonna cost me BIG TIME!!!
  15. I have a diving bcd which i could wear if i was just going out for a paddle, although i did get a life jacket with the kayak tonight. I will pick up a dry suit this week.
  16. I have looked on anglers afloat website at the section on fitting an anchor trolley Ben and will be chatting to some of the kayak guys at the club meeting next week. I am nervous about making a wally of myself when i first go out, but I hope i can join you chaps some times and learn from the experts.
  17. Thanks Zed, it all sounds so easy. Like you said about the window yesterday, 45 minutes and you were away. With my Plymouth Pilot I am completely at the mercy of the tides as I need a certain amount of water at the slipway to be able to get in and out, having said that I have modified my trailer and fitted a monster winch now so once this wind dies down I intend giving it a try. Anyway ..... dispite all the advice I have spent some money tonight and bought a kayak. At
  18. My poor boat has not seen salt water for weeks Zippy!
  19. I am amazed at all the offfers of a "test drive" that I have received. Many thanks all. I am still gutted that I cant make the 5th, but I will get myself a drysuit and will take one or two of these offers up when convenient with you. Incidentally ..... ZED, how do you find your Moken??
  20. I have just emailed the seller on anglers afloat. Its a little outside what i wanted to pay, and an 8 hour round trip, but if we can agree something ...... you never know :-)
  21. To be honest, I would probably only ever use it for inside Poole Harbour (as I live very near Baiter) unless of course I joined you guys, but I would need to get a little fitter before I tried any of that. As for the one of "anglers afloat", it looks very good but .... the seller is saying he needs something "more manageable" .... if its not manageable for him, it quite possibly wouldnt be manageable for me? Or am I missing something?
  22. or that original caper that i started the thread about was brand new for 450 including seat, back rest and paddle.
  23. The malibu is
  24. Ha Ha, but I cant get a second hand fully loaded P13 immediately!!!! I am a person of impulse and once i want, I buy. If I have to wait then my attention span is such that something else comes along and is the new "must have"
  25. What about a Cobra Tourer? http://www.directboats.com/cotoka.html 15ft of sleek polyethylene beneath me :-) or a maliby pro explorer like this one???? http://www.malibukayaks.com/kayak_explorer.asp
