  1. I popped down to force4 (on Bournemouth Road, Poole) today for my usual little chat with the blokes down there and it was all shut up???? A guy outside was stopping traffic from going into their drive (which also had a bollard up) and he told me they closed up shop and left at 1 today?? Tell me its not gone for good, I used to enjoy my little visits down there and have spent a small fortune there over the years.
  2. me too :-)
  3. slightly better than the "Cracker jokes" we have been subject to recently ...... but only VERY slightly.

there are some show offs on here now Merry Xmas all.
  5. I always called those "Rocky things" a Rockling .... I might be completely wrong tho'. Am afraid instead of fishing with my son, I spent the day taxi-ing my daughter around today when her head gasket went on her car yesterday Maybe next year huh?
  6. No competition held by and sponsored by Andy @ Poole Sea Angling Centre See HERE Martin I stand corrected. I am sure i saw it advertised in Wessex window, maybe thats where i got confused. (I'm not as young as i used to be ) Apologies to Andy @ Poole Sea Angling Centre.

  8. I think you will find its the Poole Sea Angling Cod comp on the 27th unless there are 2 comps Martin Sorry, my mistake. I thought wessex angling and poole angling were the same place. Is it being sponsored by Wessex possibly??
  9. the Wessex Angling cod comp is the 27th. If its this sunday (20th) i intend being there.
  10. car park is free on Sunday from 10.30 till 4.30 for Xmas shoppers.
  11. I will be out on the 20th too Zippy ...... I just gotta master this "staying upright" bit yet :-)
  12. I would absolutely love to Charlie, but I am not sure my tummy could cope with the swell at the moment.
  13. deleted post. Sorry that didn't sound very nice when i read it back.
  14. Superb day Zippy..... great bunch of blokes (and women) very very well done for your organising it and thanks too. I have not laughed so much for years.
  15. ha ha, thanks PAUL!!!! I did get better and didnt fall in again, but i couldn't stop laughing when i kept falling off the thing while trying to get back on. It was MUCH harder physically than I expected but hopefully if i leave out a couple of the MacDonnalds a week and start doing some physical work rather than just sit at a desk all the time maybe I will get better. The Kayak guys were brilliant out there today and I am sure everyone had a great time. Incidentally it was a PBSAC club member that won the superb signed rod and case. Zippy picked it up on their behalf.

you need to get out more pirky
  17. It doesn't sound good, but fingers crossed for a happy conclusion.
  18. That was the route i took Zippy, but with the fleece on i just could not bend enough to get my arms and head in. I will do some warm up excercises and aerobics before trying again ..... maybe lose a litttle weight round the middle too
  19. Thank you overrun, I am looking forward to playing on it ...... maybe you Kayak guys could give me another bit of advice (that I WILL take this time). I have today bought myself a crewsaver hyperdrypro front zip dry suit ....... how do I get it on???? If I put my feet and legs in first I cant get my head in and if i put my head and arms in I cant get me bloody legs in!!!! ..... I have looked like a complete twonk tonight and am sweating now from the effort! Edit...... Its ok I have done it now ..... Dunno if i will ever get it off again tho! Hopefully I will see some of yuou Thursday at the meeting (I will be the one with a dry suit on) or on Saturday at Hamworthy
  20. As I mentioned earlier Martin, I am a bit of an impulse buyer. Had I have waited any longer I would probably have found something else to spend my money on and would be buying a para glider or something else just as silly. I think a fishing kayak is a safe bet and will keep me occupied for a little while
  21. woo hoo, its looking like 'er indoors has relented and is allowing me to play Saturday :-). I have a feeling its gonna cost me BIG TIME!!!
  22. I have a diving bcd which i could wear if i was just going out for a paddle, although i did get a life jacket with the kayak tonight. I will pick up a dry suit this week.
  23. I have looked on anglers afloat website at the section on fitting an anchor trolley Ben and will be chatting to some of the kayak guys at the club meeting next week. I am nervous about making a wally of myself when i first go out, but I hope i can join you chaps some times and learn from the experts.
  24. Thanks Zed, it all sounds so easy. Like you said about the window yesterday, 45 minutes and you were away. With my Plymouth Pilot I am completely at the mercy of the tides as I need a certain amount of water at the slipway to be able to get in and out, having said that I have modified my trailer and fitted a monster winch now so once this wind dies down I intend giving it a try. Anyway ..... dispite all the advice I have spent some money tonight and bought a kayak. At
  25. My poor boat has not seen salt water for weeks Zippy!
