  2. Nice try Adam, this winds got to give up soon surely?" Dean and I went out for a spin in "Awol" today (Sunday). Set off at about 9am and back in for 11am. Just went up and down the harbour and swash to run the engine up and give us a chance to get to grips with everything. It was bloomin windy, didnt see many others out....wimps Went to the quay and fuel'd up to see how much we had used. I now know why diesel users rave about them Martin
  3. Carl I have Dean's old redundant Mainstream floaty suit that he had when he was about 15/16. Needs a bloomin good clean up. Join the lad up in the club and its yours. Martin

  7. Its not just tackle thats missing, there are no small boats suitable for Anglers use Southampton show is much more usefull to us lower classes but still primarily elitist Martin
  8. I have it on good authority that there are no angling stands (as promised) at the boat show. Also Warrior, Orkney and the like are not showing this year. The cost to exibitors is just to prohibitve for them I believe there is a warrior on the Honda stand but that is just hearsay Martin

  12. Mike I think you miss the point, its not the expese that counts but the pleasure you derive from your equipment/sport. Personally I would rather fish with a quality rod action than a stick of rhubarb it matters not what costs, I would certainly rather use a rod of any description than a violin Martin
  13. Team Diawa have my vote, I luv em uptiders and downtiders. Martin

  22. Jack We bought the new boat to try and make it more difficult for you to find us Martin
  23. Mike My Warrior 195 is about the same weight as the 640 @ 1040kg without anything on it. My Optimax is a 150hp and has no trouble (as you would expect) pushing us along a a rapid rate of knots 36 in fact. She consumes an average of 1 litre of fuel per mile, which is on a par with 4st engines. On trips out to the rips which are roughly 26miles each way plus all the up and down movements connected with drift fishing, we would typically cover 80+ miles in a day and consumed about 80 litres of fuel. Smaller boats ie 165 with 60hp 4st engines used around 70 litres for the same trip, considering the weight difference I don't think thats to bad. At tickover 4st engines are definitely quieter than my engine but when cruising I don
