  1. Hi Simon Welcome to our clubs forum and website. There are a few Shetalnd owners in the club so you will be in good company Martin
  2. and that's then end of the catch report from the Maverick crew well not quite Dean and I left Cobbs quay at around 8am. The sea was as flat as the kitchen table....a beautiful morning. Said good morning to Mike Fox and family who were fishing off Brownsea Castle, strange to see people fishing from a sailing boat. Then off we go out of the harbour and looked out to sea. Uuuummmm it looked a little black about 5 miles off, looks like were going to get wet says Dean. We cruise on out at 22 - 24 knots, the nearer we get to our chosen mark the better it looks, by the time we arrived the clouds had all but disappeared. The day then proceeded to get better as it went on in fact it was the best day I have had afloat for a few months. Now on to the fishing. Dropped our baits in our first chosen mark and got rewarded with doggy after doggy, soon got fed up with that and moved out to another of our winter marks. Well it fished slowly but we ended up with Bass to 4lb, Bream to 2.5lb, Conger straps, Pout, Blonde ray 18.5lb Bullhuss 8lb 12oz and more dogs All in all a wonderful day afloat with some fish thrown in to amuse us. How did you do? Martin

  6. Unless its dead flat then my money would be on a Tubby or Brill Round fish must surely be either an undulate or bully or if were really lucky a Cod? but then again whiting could be in the running or even a Wrasse but what about Bass what do we do with that, weigh in or go for the catch and release prize, to many decisions ummmmm can't make up me mind Martin
  7. Hi Dave Welcome to the best club website (yes even better than Poole Dolphins) on the internet Martin
  8. Welcome to the best small boat forum on the south coast Never have understood why more charter skippers havent registered Enjoy your stay with us Martin
  9. Hi Bob Sorry to hear about your dad. I know the feeling and it isn't at all pleasant but as they say time will help heel or at least soften the blow. It sounds like he was a bit of a character and enjoyed his time here, savour the memories, they can't be taken away from you. Veronica's and my thoughts are with you and your family Martin & Veronica
  10. Reg If its just 2 boats I might be able to accomodate them (just) its a steep drive which will have to be reversed into but if I can get maverick in you should have no problem. Gotta run it by ere in doors first though I'm fairly central and only a mile or so from baiter Martin
  11. Hi Reg Nearest slip to arne is.........wait for it..........baiter, in fact the only useable public slip in poole is baiter There is a small slip in hamworthy which is almost opposite Arne but there is restricted access with a 2.2 metre high barrier. If your boat will fit under the barrier its free but parking is restricted. I would say for fishing the harbour from small trailable boats then baiter would be your best bet. Arne isn't to far from here any way. BTW why Arne? Martin
  12. Tom still has this large Cetrek plotter for sale and has now reduced the price to

  14. Andy Its nice to fish new areas although it can be a little frustrating not knowing the marks. Well done for trying and glad you enjoyed the day Martin
  15. Charlie No problem arranging the course for you thats what the club is all (well nearly all) about. Glad you and the others enjoyed it. If the course saves you one embarassing moment it will have been more than worth it. We will be arranging a vhf course with Dave in the not to distant future amongst other things Martin
  16. It's still running Martin

  23. Hi Charlie Welcome to the site, glad you like it. Good advice about using letters and numbers. Also passwords are case sensitive so use a mixture of upper and lower case letters plus your nombers. This will increase the combinations and make your time surfing even more secure Martin

  25. Duncan As you say (and I did) it isn't a secret but after recent events I thought it pc to move into a private area. No point in making it to easy for non members Martin
