  2. Hi Richard Registered at last and not before time Welcome to the pbsbac home on the net, your one stop small boat info shop As I said the other night perseverence will pay dividends. Stugeron work for me but obviously not for you, try sea leggs or Quells and as said earlier ginger can help if only with the after taste Keep at it Richard and I'm sure things will fall into place eventually BTW whats this Dolphins thing you belong to? Martin
  3. Many happy returns Simon Enjoy your evening out Martin
  4. Not sure if I can fish yet but have attached a poster for the comp Paul D can this be put on our home page Martin
  5. But we still have to put up with you Only joking Mike, glad your ok mate Martin
  6. Hi Simon Good to have you back and glad you holiday lived up to your expectations. As you say its an amazing place for an angler, must get myself back over there Martin
  7. Try boatsandoutboards search for merry fisher Martin
  8. Well a few boats fished the comp with a load more of you deciding to take advantage of the reasonable weather and deciding to chase the white bellies A few flounders were brought to the scales with Bob Horne on Rossi G winning with a fish of 2lb10oz. Chris Gould on Fugazi came second with his flattie of 1lb-11 1/2oz followed by Carl Hurren, Gordon Holt and Jim Varley all bringing fish to the scales Well done to those that managed to fish Martin
  9. Nice one Paul an excellent fish, they certainly seem few and far between this year so well done on your capture Martin
  10. Dan The 2 boats you have listed are totally different breeds. The Merry fisher is a fine cruising/fishing boat. She will do all you need on the fishing and cruising front so will satisfy some of your needs. The cruising speed of this boat is around 14/15knots so you may be able to wake board (just) but she is not ideal for that. The rib is a fantastic speed machine and will easily give you the 18/19knots you need to comfortably water ski and wakeboard. You would also be able to fish from it but it is not ideal for that. To get the best of both wrolds you might need to look elsewhere. Now I do know that a Warrior 195 will be up for sale early in the new year It will do all you ask and more. For more details keep an eye on the swap and shop section of this site Just my thoughts, you will get loads of sound opinions from the guys on here I'm sure Martin
  11. Mike Set one up then, its easy to do, then post it around some of the fishing sites and your away Don't know about you but I am getting sick to the back teeth with Brown and his taxing policies, I know its the eec that has done away with derrogation but you can't tell me this thief isn't rubbing his hands. The man is sucking the working man dry Martin
  12. Those with diesel powered boats, might be interested in this PETITION that is being collected to try and persuade HMG to mitigate the effects of losing cheap red diesel for private boats.
  13. Charlie Nope I think PJ has them Martin
  14. Fish for 7 hours with the weigh in at baiter 4pm One fish per person only allowed at the scales This year we have first prize of the hamper and a little something for 2nd place Martin
  15. Rich Could you post a link for the said item as I cannot find it. Access to BASS forum is restricted to members only? Martin
  16. Have a look at PBO a little more info ref red diesel
  17. and me Martin
  18. Thats the idea duncan makes it a bloomin expensive trip though when you have to buy a boat to go Martin
  19. Found the review When their click on the diesl or petrol link. It may take a little while to download but worth the wait BTW if you open the review on the Karnic 2460 the boat featured is the exact boat I am proposing to purchase Martin
  20. The outboard used in that test was I believe a 200hp Suzuki 4st I will try and find the report and post it here Martin
  21. Adam I have never had a petrol inboard but have heard they are fairly thirsty and that diesels are more frugal than the pets. Bearing in mind what I have just purchased I certainly hope this is correct. Bloody eec fancy announcing the end of derrogation the week I offer to purchase a diesel inboard Martin
  22. Dean and I went out for the sea trial today with the Karnic 2460 boat living up to the majority of our expectations. A short chop down the river sent a little spray over the driving station but when we opened her up all spray was directed away from the boat. Went into some white water off of Hurst castle and cruised through at about 20knots with no slamming and no spray into the cockpit. The 250hp diesel engine sounded as sweet as a nut but then it has only done 106 hours. She just purred with no noise issues in fact it is probably the quietest diesel powered boat I have been on She was very responsive on the throttle and will easily give us the kind of cruising speeds we are used to Have some minor issues with trim and electronics but hopefully we can do a deal with the broker/owner to get these items resolved. Looking forward to seeing the surveyors report later in the week. Suppose we had better get out and spruce up Maverick to get her ready for the open market. I will be really sorry to see her go though as we have had some fantastic times on her, but hey thats progress Martin
  23. Bob No problem come along to any meeting and get involved. If you join after our Xmas fayre (last organised event of the club year) your new membership would last untill the AGM april 2008 Martin
  24. Adam Could that be the name of my new craft Guys Wish me luck as today I am going for a sea trial and tuesday she will be surveyed Only one problem, as I sit here typing this the trees outside are motionless the only day when I would like some rough weather and its as flat as a f@rt. Lets hope it picks up before 10:30 If the trial is ok I will divulge what I am buying later...watch this space. Martin
