  1. Good service deserves a plug on ere...well done reel care . I have several items in need of tlc so will be in touch with them shortly Martin
  2. The fish of the month competitions starting in April have been kindly sponsored by Andy of Poole Sea Angling Centre. Each month there will be a Fenwick 20lb or 30lb class rod up for grabs which as PJ says would go well with a 7000 series reel Martin
  3. Gordon Not sure about rod rings but the 7000 size reeels are a perfect match for Conolon pro's or my favourite rods Team Diawa TDX in either the 10-20lb class or the 4-8oz uptider Martin
  4. Could be interested, which day are you intending to go? Martin
  5. PJ Your link isnt working could you add it again please Martin
  6. I used to (and still do) love my Mariner 150hp Optimax 2st. If I had to re-engine Maverick that was my choice.....a 175Mariner Optimax big is beautifull Martin
  7. Spot on Rich. Younger members may not be familiar with the military term AWOL Absent With Out Leave, hence the ere indoors comment or Adam may be correct with his lunatic comment Martin
  8. Adam I have the trailer that maverick is on but you would need to cover any mooring costs involved with mooring maverick for the day. Apart from that you are more than welcome to borrow it. The trailer would more than cope with the boat you have in mind Martin
  9. PJ yep I was seduced Mike yep it was but we couldnt keep away Adam thats our naming of the boat, she previously had no name. Did think about calling it Maverick (would seriously have liked to) but been there done that. Missus said I suppose you'll go missing more often so thats where the name came from Martin
  10. Mike Is that the missus on the back Mark of nipper fame had a Quicksilver 640, I'm sure he will give you feedback Martin

  14. Fred That helm station looks like something from the starship enterprise, absolutely stunning m8 Martin
  15. Dean and I went to lymo today and picked up our new toy. Boarded "AWOL" fired her up and promptly went to the fuel station to brim her ready for our trip to Poole. Left Lymo and headed over to the needles which was a pleasant enough trip in the stiff southerly winds. Seen Gordon and crew on Fugazi on station but still codless at that point. In the distance we could see the huge looking seas but still headed towards em just to see what it was like. Well it was snotty, we read the label on the boat and it said Category B suitable for 8 people in a force 8 so we decided to try it out and turned to head for Poole. At its worst some of the waves were around 12-14ft with cresting tops which made life interesting but we still felt 100% safe so on we went. As we crossed the bay the seas became more user friendly and allowed us to open up the throttles a little. To say we were pleased would be an understatement, she does all we expected and probably a bit more. To sum up "AWOL" does what it says on the tin, I really enjoyed bringing her home and wouldn
