  1. Dont know if this has been put here before http://users.pandora.be/tree/wrecksite/_en...el?hide=visible Have a look quite good for wrecks Martin
  2. In my experience Vaseline is good for electrical terminals, seems to do the job for me Martin
  3. Hells I think Paul could think of a few names for you other than smoothie Queen I like it though. Roll on the bbq I feel a wind up coming on
  4. Hells Your will see Dolphins off the Dorset coast sometime, Dolphins especially are spotted regularly of Poole and Swanage, in fact I believe there is a resident pod along our part of the coast. According to the Durlston Marine watch oct/nov/dec are the best times to see Dolphins, however I have only seen them in the summer months Last time I saw them was the week before we went to Alderney they were off of Durlston swimming towards Swanage Bay Martin
  5. Well done mate, that'll be you hooked on fishing then Martin
  6. I would agree with Mike a Basking shark for sure. I have seen them along Chesil Beach on occasions nice to see. Mike a smut is an abreviation for a Smooth Hound. Martin
  7. Kam Good luck on your boat hunt mate, fingers crosed there gooduns Martin
  8. I agree Mike For a town that promotes itself on the back of the harbour/beaches and water sports it is among the most (imo the most) poorly served when it comes to allowing ordinary folk access to the water with their toys. Fine if your loaded and can afford to keep your boat in a marina but we are not all that well endowed Martin
  9. Would that be a naughty boy or a stupid boy It takes all sorts just a shame some are idiots Martin
  10. I am with NTL and have never had a problem however, there email service even on broadband appears slow at times, apart from that well pleased. Martin
  11. I am also with porthcawl. Found them to be helpfull however I haven't made a claim yet, this would be the test Martin
  12. Nice one Rich, the smaller immature bass taste better than the biguns. You did right to put a mature fish able to spawn back Martin
  13. Your competition sub committee are meeting on wed this week to discuss amongst other things the November open comp. If any member has any suggestions re the comp or sponsors please let me know Cheers Martin
  14. There is now a link in our links page to Quay West Chandlery
  15. Newboy I have used the volvo and it does tow ok the only problem is that is is front wheel drive so if used on a slippy slip you would have to rope the trailer to keep the vehicle on ground with grip Martin
  16. Hi Dave It was good to meet you, sorry you didnt get more fish but that's our hobby, unpredictable. Apologies for not coming out to play but I won't take maverick out without crew its blooming hard work retreiving a 195 on your own and of course there is the small issue of safety. On the plus side I didn't show any one up as I would probably have fluked more out than you lot Another plus point is that my brownie points bag is overflowing Would be good to see you at a meeting sometime in the future. Would give you a chance to meet some more members all of whom you will find friendly. Martin
  17. Alun Nice report Do you have a new boat? you mention a Warrior And yes lets hope summer is indeed returning. Martin
  18. Mike would that be ) moonlight lol Martin
  19. Newboy Maverick is over 1.5 tonnes so you would need a fairly large vehicle to tow one of that weight. I have towed it behind a volvo 940 2.5L 170bhp from the factory to home and that was ok. I now have a volvo 850 2.5 140 bhp and that is better than the 940? probably because the 850 is a diesel the 940 petrol the diesel having more torque at lower revs?. Used to use a VW transporter (van) 2.5 litre 88 bhp although it was within the manufacturers stated towing range it did not like the hills at all. The vehicle I use now is a VW T30 (van) 2.5 litre 130bhp and that does the job with no problem. As you can see all the vehicles I use are 2.5L deisels (except the 940) but you also need the bhp Martin
  20. That'll be the one then, another puzzle solved Martin
  21. Good luck Dave fingers crossed its a goodun Martin
  22. Hi all I can Dean can't so looks like I need crew, any takers Martin
  23. Cheers Paul Another idea muted one day and perfectly implemented the next, well done. I will email Malcomn and ask him to tell all the other skippers, will also try and contack the chairman of the Poole Charter skippers association. Thanks again Martin
