  1. Dave you going chartering? Martin
  2. Bob I think the rules of the club state that two hooks only to be fished so if you had two hooks on, baited with feathers then I would say whatever you caught would count. Any more than two hooks and it wouldnt, I do however seek guidance/clarification from our fish recorder Martin
  3. Red Gurnard as lifted from the Aquarium Project Looks the same to me
  4. Charlie I dont know a lot about these techno things but try this, click on "view new posts" when you are sure that you have read em all click on "mark all posts as read and return to the forum" Then hopefully when you click on view new posts next time it will only display new posts. 10. Yep a 2.75tc carp rod is a powerful rod and so long as there isnt to much tide would be perfect for light line fishing Have fun Martin
  11. Andy I would consider fishing with a 20lb class rod and 15lb line as medium weight fishing. I use 20lb class tackle for most of my downtide work coupled with a penn ld reel loaded with 25/30lb braid. Mike has explained what he considers to be light line tackle and I would agree that is fishing very light. I like using a 12lb class rod with a 6000/7000 reel loaded with 20lb braid for general fishing, and a spinning rod loaded with 10lb line for inshore stuff. All the above are of course tide dependant as the amount of weight you need to hold bottom will dictate what outfit you can comfortably use. Not good to try and haul up a 2lb lead on light spinning gear Martin
  12. Some think he works, but he always seems to be on ere when I log on, and thats quite frequent Martin

  23. Hi Benny Welcome to Poole Bay Small Boat angling Club forum Please feel free to ask questions or contribute answers to others questions. Enjoy Martin
  24. Hi Benny I would only fish the Harbour as a last resort, you will catch lots of small chequers anywhere in the harbour, the odd plaice up the wytch channel. Try around Brownsea Castle for pollock, wrasse and pout. Ragworm in the harbour is top bait, sandeel and crab close second. As Mike says above the Poole outer patch would be a good place to start. This time of year you should have no problem catching Bream, wrasse, pout, Pollock, smoothies, occasionally Bass and the ever present lsd's, to name but a few. You won't need a lot of weight here (2-8oz) so fishing light will give the best sport. 12lb class tackle will be more than adequate copeing with most situations and you can fish lighter at times. All the mainstream baits will work here, crab for smoothies and other species, ragworm will attract all but usually smaller species, Mackerel will catch all especially lsd's,squid for the Bream, sandeel or fillets of good for most species Hope that helps Martin
  25. Hi Helen Good to hear your back (no pun intended ) fishing again and contributing on this ere forum again Watch that car I hear Pauls got his eyes on it Martin
