Adam If I was to retrofit two bats I would use a switch as suggested by whippet. You never know when you are going to need that extra bat. Sods law says it will more likely be when one or two other things are happening. Much easier to turn a switch. Duncan has pointed out some instances when it wouldnt be urgent but what if your anchor is dragging or that gin palace which is on auto pilot without a body at the helm is bearing down on you or your engine conks out at a critical time. You would need all the power you could get and in double quick time. Martin

Reading what the nfsa has to say would lead me to believe that they have no problem with fish that are accidentally foul hooked so we shouldnt either, should we? I have started a poll to get an idea of views here and will ask the rest of the membership at the next meeting Please make your views known in the poll Martin

Should we allow ACCIDENTLY foul hooked fish in our records and competitions. I have not made provision here for where fish are hooked as they are either foul hooked or not. Please do not try to post a reply here as this is a poll only

Hi Andy The best way to find marks worth fishing is to look at your admiralty chart of the area and look for features. Things such as banks, rough ground, holes, or ledges can all be good fish holding areas. If you are fishing inshore you might like to try Old Harry to Ballard for Bream or Poole Patch theses popular areas are plainly shown on the chart. An easy way to find marks is to join a club that specializes in boat fishing if you can find one . Over a period of time you would pick up from other members where they fish and what can be expected in a given area. The fire looked to be in the area of the Chandlery, Yellow penguin marine and Select Marine. I passed there today at around 3.40pm thick black smoke bellowing out of that area Hope there isnt to much damage as maverick is supposed to be going into Select Marine for a service in two weeks

Hi Paul Loyal Royal, Blue Warrior and Maverick took a liesurely cruise up Wareham river and rafted up at the quay. We met Bob F and his family there and had lunch in the pub. After lunch Bob then scooted off in his car (I'll let him tell you why in the car). The three boats stayed on the quay for a couple of hours and soaked up the sun. Nice weather, nice company loverly day Martin
