  1. 26.38 miles from my house Half way to Alderney huummmm Martin
  2. Hi Adam Yep I am up for it. I would launch from Poole, I think it is slightly more than 20 miles but will check that. A mid tide would be best to avoid the worst of the chop given by big tides on marks like this. A smaller tide would also save us on fuel as you would probably want to drift this mark for cod + pollock etc. Who else is up for it? Martin
  3. 1 kilo = 2.2lb
  4. If you decide to move your axle a little tip to help keep everything square is to mark the current position with an indelible marker pen. That way you can be sure that both sides of the axle are moved the same distance. The other advantage of marking the current position is that you can relocate the axle in the origonal place if needed. Martin
  5. Hi Mark Yes we caught fish on Storm lures on Tiger Lilly, I for one caught the biggest pollock on Tiger Lilly at around 12lb on the first wreck we visited. Several pollock and pout were caught using them. I will definately be giving them a real go on Maverick Martin
  6. You can adjust the nose weight by moving the axle. Most axles are just bolted in position so a few bolts undone move the axle then do em up again. This is more awkward than moving the boat up and down the frame to get the required nose weight but your boat does stay in the manufacturers suggested area. Martin
  7. Adam you have an email Martin

  10. Hi all The trip over was brilliant albeit a little rough no one ill!. This is the first time I have wreck fished seriously. We gave the Wild eye Storm shads a thorough trial and can report that I am a convert; I will be trying these on trips from my own boat. The first wreck we fished saw pout and Pollock coming over the gunnels. I achieved my PB Pollock of around 12lb on this wreck (those who took photos could you send them to me). Wreck no 2 gave up more Pollock and Ling. We then made our way to the island and drifted a few miles of the island but not much there. Arrived at the island and made our way to the accommodation which looked a bit iffy on the outside but wow anglers

  21. Newboy I have two 85 amp batteries on my boat, they are switchable i.e. bat 1, bat 2 or all on oh and off. I have never had a problem with my batteries except when I forgot to switch the electrical system off when leaving the boat for a period of time (couple of weeks) that spoilt a days fishng but thats another story. Modern electric toys dont drain much power so a 110 amp battery on a small boat is up to the job and will cope with your boat electrics easily. BUT I would never have a boat of mine with one battery for safety reasons. With two batteries you should always have plenty of power to start your engine even if one bat goes dead on you. Most outboards can poke out enough power to keep batteries charged up and trailer boaters have the benefit of being able to charge them up at home. Mine are on a trickle charge now. If you are thinking about it you are obviously concerned so dont think it do it, fit two batteries. Martin
