  1. As I am understanding it - using a lazy line - the anchor warp shouldnt be going through the bow roller. Anyone?
  2. I am not really aware of the need of the lazy line. Is it so you can adjust the amount of warp\rode out from the cockpit? Because other than that it seems like much bother as that can be done at the bow \ through a cockpit hatch. The whole combo of a lazy line and an Alderney ring and buoy sounds like a tangle waiting to happen at the bow whilst bobbing at anchor - then you have that to deal with single handed! Confuzzled, Rob
  3. Bad luck Graham. I guess you cursed it with your original post! Hope you have it replaced and land a big-un!!! Rob
  4. I am aware of the need for shims \ backlash checks to ensure realignment is 100% and if not all sorts of issues can \ could occur. Perhaps there is someone with a little more knowlegde than that!!! I attach some images below - referencing a Yam but I expect principles are similar. Higher res versions are in my gallery. HTH Rob
  5. Where's Rob going to sleep then Al??! I'll stay on the boat if beds are an issue. Top and Tail Ad Top and Tail! If I need to find smewhere please advise as I will start calling! Rob
  6. Enjoy Dan - why not make it a birthday weekend!!! Rob

  8. Mike, I would suggest that a full size Abu 7000 would be too big, the narrow version may be ok. Rob
  9. If only someone had downloaded all the pages from such a useful website! Who might have done that..........? What pics you want Dave? I h.ave the pics not the blurb Rob
  10. Nice report James - do you often use a closed face reel? How do they cope with the salt water? Rob
  11. Mike _ i guess it is how you interpret "keeping", i would suggest that having a couple of small maccy in a bait well that are alive and you intend to use as livebait is not keeping them. Just holding them with the intention to put them back!
  12. I think the notch is put there by fisheries officers to allow a proportion of the population to grow to a size well above the minimum take size! The notch does grow out I think, then making them BIG and take-able.

    Birfday boy

    Many happy returns. Rob
  14. Fishing them is what small, fast, low profile, zero cabin, below radar stealth boats are for! Know anyone who has one?
  15. Personally I think they are quite cool - something hypotic \ calming about them. It's not like digging a quarry for coal or having a huge oil refinery - if they are no longer wanted - take them down and you are left with a concrete foundation, which coudl be left, view unchanged - goes for onshore ones too. It seems sensibe to produce the energy you want - generate electric and keep it as so, unlike gas \ coal for electric generation. But hey - what do I know!
  16. Duncan - was it sat on a sea fan?
  17. http://corporateuk.eneco.nl/News_and_Media...rewindpark.aspx Though I cant see the Map that is mentioned on this page!

Hey Rich - welcome back. Rob
  19. Not everyting is cheap - if going check you prices with someone like QuayWest first - I have been with a great list of items, with prices listed from online sources and ended up buying next to nothing as it was expensive! + most of the time you hav no come back if the kit\unit has a fault - are you going to wait till next year to get you money back? At least buying locally and \ or online you have distance selling rights or can pop back in. Though the place is good for second hand stuff that you can't buy elsewhere - Charlie A and I did well last year!!!
  20. CS3 and Vista are both 2007 I believe!
  21. Why do you want Photoshop? Is there something that only Photoshop will do? Have you tried GIMP? www.gimp.org It is highly rated and does much that Photoshop dose and it is FREE! For simple work, basic images with layers etc I use www.paint.net , too is free! Rob

    Trailer tyres

Try trailertek.co.uk these guys are great and for me it was cheaper to buy new wheels with fitted tyres than tyres alone!
  23. If only I can frikin hook one Adam!
  24. Jolly good work Adam - Can we have a bit of breeze to hold us up on the drift? Then veering or backing 180 (not fussed which) on the turn of the tide? Not too much sun maybe a little haze! Rob
  25. Like CC will take crew again on a big conger hunt. TB nicked his record from under his nose a couple of years ago!
