  8. Havign watched countryfile and they discussed how much farmed salmon eat and how it is a 3 to 1 ratio of fish based food to weight of salmon - I think there could be some merit in using fish that would be discards as salmon feed. If we could feed salmon dodfish we woudl be on to a winner!!!
  9. Indeed Ad, Charlie A and I had pretty much called our trip out anyhow due to the forecast. You better get your weather predicting crystal balls polished as teh Met Office seem to be neglecting theirs!! Rob
  10. What happened to the forecast wind? I didn't notice it at home.
  11. If there is this new Marina, where will it be? I can only assume it will take business from the other locations and lower prices for all. As for a good slipway, not a chance, they have had the chance to do something good before and we ended up with Baiter! Bridge wise, the whole thing is stupid. May as well widen the current one, at least it would lift at the same time! The holding area idea if beyond belief! I expect Cobbs would lose business.
  12. Get in teh queue Jim - I will be getting teh first autograph!!!
  13. JoJo is offended! She provided a number of smiles and laughs on the last Family Day!!! On a serious not I will vote NO - have an anchor exclusion zone, as where we go on the family day is sand - which is easy to see as the water is so clear and shallow. Rob

    spare anchor

I carry a 5Kg spare on JoJo - ready a rigged and sat in the outboard well. I have it there as I have used it to anchor both forward and aft when in one of those swinging situations when you are in shallow water with a little tide and annoying wind. I thought I would leave it at the back as I didnt want the weight up the front. Though it does not have chain on it - which is something I need to address. Rob

Don't forget the Opti, if you want 2 stroke (cough cough, gag gag )- it's a cracker and the 75hp is great on my sister ship StarTurn!
  19. Jim's nose is a highly tuned instrument - a bloodhound has nothing on him!!
  20. Wedger's (Trevor) wife - Sheila I think. PM Wedger
  21. I had low voltage with engine running - it basically was as if there was no charge. I investigated the regulator etc and that seemed to be at fault - not putting out enough. But before I bit the expensive bullet of buying one, I stole my wifes car battery - hey presto - all worked correctly. Get you battery to Halfords and let them put their tester on it, just measuring voltage does not put the battery under load as the tester they use in Halfords will do. It was a fault with the battery, though looked like it was the regulator \ lighting coil! Easy fix and has been 100% ever since. I opted for a semi-traction battery that seems good for cranking\starting and good for running elcetronics as i don't have the need \ space for 2 batteries. HTH Rob

  24. Nice video - that guy needs to tighten his drag!!!
  25. The bit which bites me is the dumping of small \ less profitable fish from the hold when they hit a catch of more profitable fish!!!
