  1. I had low voltage with engine running - it basically was as if there was no charge. I investigated the regulator etc and that seemed to be at fault - not putting out enough. But before I bit the expensive bullet of buying one, I stole my wifes car battery - hey presto - all worked correctly. Get you battery to Halfords and let them put their tester on it, just measuring voltage does not put the battery under load as the tester they use in Halfords will do. It was a fault with the battery, though looked like it was the regulator \ lighting coil! Easy fix and has been 100% ever since. I opted for a semi-traction battery that seems good for cranking\starting and good for running elcetronics as i don't have the need \ space for 2 batteries. HTH Rob

  3. That 30 goes quickly with great surroundings, fishing chit chat, rig tying and a coffee!! + on the return it is a good chance for the crew to wash down - then your done when you get back.
  4. Nice video - that guy needs to tighten his drag!!!
  5. The bit which bites me is the dumping of small \ less profitable fish from the hold when they hit a catch of more profitable fish!!!
  6. He is catching as many as Jim by sitting at a PC and typing on the forum!! Welcome Stuart. Rob
  7. I have a AGA on JoJo - we like to keep a kettle on the boil at all times. My sous chef Charlie A often prepares and cooks a full sunday roast whilst we are out, inbetween fighting huge bass and cod. It is just easier that way and caters ( ) for all eventualities. I had wondered why my fuel consumption was up - maybe it the the weight of the stove! Sorry - had a reality blip, Rob "Cold Packed Lunch" Francis

  14. Charlie A and I had issues on Star Turn holding in tide on a ray mark (5kg bruce copy) - he upgraded to a 7.5kg (of the same) and we held in similar if not rougher conditions on the Open no probs, though no longer quite sure it is a ray mark!!! Quick question - weight of chain is important - which is better: a longer length of thinner chain (smaller link) or a shorter length of heavier chain? (please dont say longer length of thicker chain!!!) Rob

    Anchors and Rope

Martin sometimes gets 2nd hand rope from the DELETED I guess it depends how long you can wait! If not speak to Quaywest chandlery (use club card for discount!) I had previously used a website called ropes and twines I think. Lovely and supple 3 strand twist. I think it was

  24. I found this site for rod rings and Neil from Bournemouth Fishing Lodge also recommended it. http://www.hopkinsholloway.co.uk/ They have every type you can imagine P&P cheap too! If you are not sure call them, apparently very helpful and know what they are talking about (which is rare these days)! This cropped up in conversation as Adam needed a tip ring and he suggested I share. Rob
