  3. Craig, This is gonna cost ya a new wardrobe!!!!! It's your funeral! Was nice knowing you! Let us know if a frying pan round ya head hurts more than a treble! Laters Captain Hook. Rob
  4. Brian - you need to hope customs don't pick it up or you will pay VAT on top of that! They got me once, I had to pay the VAT at a postoffice before I coudl get my hands on the item.
  5. I woudl fancy a go at the triggers from round the corner myself - but is it too early? Alun?

Thanks for the update Paul - bet your still smiling. The local Bass will never be the same now!!! Rob
  7. When in Ski Marine Bournemouth I saw the guy sold some outboard mounting brackets - they were hydraulic and a few hunderd quid compare the nearly a grand for a full unit from the manufacutrer. Possibly overkill for a 40 but they were very bling and nicely machined. Could be an option if they do a smaller one - this one I saw was BIG! Rob
  8. NOW SOLD We think!!! The club doing what it does best!! Thanks for the tip and passing on the details Alun. Or friendly fishmonger \ squid dealer Simon Hutching is now taking up boating!!! Rob
  9. Welcome, There are a few guys who do what you are after - Paul J has a boat on a trailer in XChurch - but he is on holiday fishing for Stripers at the mo. Wedger has a boat on a mooring there Niggle has a bost on a pontoon Perhpas PM them and ask the questions, they should be able to shed some light on your requests. Rob
  10. My father-in-law is selling his boat - it is very similar to mine but lighter weight (Hull 200Kg and only a 25hp engine). So really really easy to launch on own and tow + nice high freeboard. She was new in 2006 from BHG and been serviced by them every year I believe and has been used only a handful of times. I think it is at a great price and should go pretty quick, so don't hang about!!!
  11. Charlie, I will fire the full versions to you later in the week when Jo returns with the camera! Cheers Rob
  12. Few pics - if anyone wants the big version let me know! I call this one "Best Buddies". This boat was following us closely! Cleaning up in the sun back in Poole.
  13. Illegal bump - you can't bump after one day!

    Cor blimey!!!!!!!! Nice work!!!
  16. I will have a look at mine tonight - not sure I took very many though, to many turbos to keep me busy!!!
  17. Yes - that was my first guess on April 12th! Therefore I feel I should help haul fish over the gunnels at some point!!! Have a safe and enjoyable maiden voyage. Rob

    Fuel consumption

How fast is that? 4300 means nothing unless you translate that to speed- then work on litres per mile. Imagine woudl be a good comparison (Paul F's Orkney 20 with Yam 80) Rob
  19. I owe a few of mine to the "Franklin Flyer" - cheers Adam - had some more turbo tonight - backed with raost veg and new spuds Mmmmmm!
  20. My engine doesn't have an air filter - does yours? Is it blocked? If it isn't lack of air it is prob fuel - so maybe one of the jets (main prob as idle jet sounds ok) - but to have all 3 or 4 go is a little weird! Have you tried new HT leads? You can measeur the output of the stator \ regulator and compare with the service manual. I thought that my stator \ regulator was gone and it ended up being the battery - have you tried a new battery - a bad battery \ earth \ connection could cause all sorts of weird issues. Rob

    Whale Tail

there was a set of Dole Fins (same thing) on JoJo when I bought her - they work great in a straight line but cornering at speed could get very dodgy - she ran better without them except the plane was now at a greater speed. So i fitted SmartTabs (teh black plastc ones) - brilliant - better than nothing and much better than the Fins - Jim - cancel the order and get ya money back!! Derek I have a pair if you want to try them - means drilling the Cavitation plate though. Rob
  22. Yer, come on Captain Hook write your report!!
  23. Our skipper went on about Rain-X like it was the best thing since......braid!!!! Must be a captain thing!!
  24. As they say it is the journey not the destination - well this is not true for Alderney, it is both!!!! I'm lucky to get 4 top days fishing in a couple of months, let alone 4 days in succession. The fishing was great along with the land based activities (drinking and eating) and the compay onboard was such a good laugh with a handfull of ribbing and tomfoolery! And JV what a boat - brilliant - great platform and beautifully fitted out, this you dont appreciate until you have spent some hours on her (even if quite a bit of that was asleep!!!). Well done Bob & Adam, you did a great job!!! Adam was a great skipper too, and even made the tea occasionally! I set a few PB's this last week - monster Tope and my first ever Turbo. Jo has advised Turbo is now her favourite table fish and I am allowed to go back, result!!! Cheers to all who went, we had great club spirit and it was a pleasure to be part of it. The banter on the radio was great and it was nice to really fish up close and personal to other club boats - if not too close sometimes!!!! Rob
  25. Oh and some of adas finest spears!!! Very good - I am thinking of Turbo Vindaloo for the rest!
