    Happy Birthday

    Happy Birthday Paul. Rob
  2. Popped out this morning with a friend from work. Bit of a breeze first thing which created a huge swell but it was fishable. Motoring out in teh rain was not pleasent but at least the air temp was acceptable! Had a few non boat issues that PJ helped with (spirit of the club at it's best). So nothing worth reporting but my crew had a good time and a couple of jumbo pout for teh pot. Cheers and HoHoHo, Rob

    Xmas

Happy Crimbo All. Lets all get a cod before New Year!!! Rob
  4. I had a great Day with Adam on JV (superb boat, I was well impressed!). We went offshire to search for something a little bigger but alas, a few whiting for the pot was all we coudl find! Though the sausage and bacon rolls made up for it (nearly)! We were about to hurl some abuse to a WAFI who tacked were close to us, but on further inspection we no sails up we saw it was FriskyFox - good to see her out and trying for a cod. We popped back in to flounder bash for the last hour - Adam had one so we can at least say we tried! Thanks again Adam (and Bob). Rob
  5. Don't forget there are more prizes this year. 2nd (Wine) and 3rd (Beer) prizes donated by CEFAS. So remember with AJ taking the hamper there are 2 prizes up for grabs for mortals!! Rob

    looking for a dory

Brian, it would do 30kn no probs - I expect it could have even had more pitch on it as it hit WOT max no probs - but towing the toys etc required more pull than top end. Is the 50 Evirude a newish one? I believe old outboards were rated at the fly wheel and new ones are measured at the prop - therefore and the difference between and old 50 and new 40 isn't 10hp! But if the revs are rising and the speed isnt you may need to trim it differently or you have a cavitation issue or the leg is the wrong length. These boats were foam filled and the foam could get waterlogged - mine was ok but it could be worth getting the boat weighed as it could be carrying 1/2 ton of water!! On JoJo I have a Yamaha 50 4-stroke 2003 - beautifully smooth and quiet. Rob
  12. Thanks guys - off to stay with some friends today - should manage a few drinks along the way!! Cheers Rob

    looking for a dory

Used to tow a 4 man ringo (only 2 up though normally) - also pulled a knee board, wakeboard and waterskis (not all at same time!). Brilliant fun!!

    looking for a dory

Not that it helps - but I used to have a Dell Quay EuroSport 13 - great boat - much better than the normal Dory. It took me ages to find a good one but it is worth looking at, it is also suprising what people advertise as a "Dory"!!!! I put a brand spanker 40 Johnson 2-stroke on it and she went like
  15. Paul, there are 3 flounders reported on 14th Dec 09 - not sure what has happened but my name is on one of them!! I think something had gone Rob

    Weather for Jobs

I have taken advantage of the weather and been greasing the outboard and performed and oil change. Gearbox oil tomorrw and may grease the winch to keep things exciting!!! For those with trailers remember to spin the wheels and ensure the tyre is rotated so it doesn't get a flat spot! December better be good! Rob
