Just out of interest, what Shads/ Jellys were you using? We didnt have nearly as many cod as you! (though only on 2 rods...), on white berkley storm shads, and firetails on leadheads... its amazing with so many boats out there,, you could get away without a gps or fishfinder, as you just have to join the conveyor belt of charter boats, and motor back to the start once youve finished! Phew! Just Got back from there today,,, absolutely beautiful day, calm going out, and bearable coming back, 20knts all the way! 7 Cod in total, with the biggest at 16lb, to Jake (my younger bro..), who decided to pick up a rod for the first time, and hooked straight in to it! Great Day, but definately wouldnt like to be there with any worse conditions or stronger winds! Dan

You big wooss! lol i was in on sunday without a wetsuit, and its not that bad! being on SUPs, they havent really got much under the water, so theres not much for the tide to take hold of and pull them backwards! Dan

Be careful with that! you dont know whats on the end of it!! It may be a masssive pot that acts as an effective anchor, or it may be a smaller parlour pot (LIKE MINE!!) that you will drag along the rocky sea bed, until it jams solid in a crevace, costing its owner around

Try these guys http://www.coastalnets.co.uk/ theyr in Bridport, and pretty helpful! We bought a commercial Parlour Pot off them, after being tired of loosing the rubbish ebay pots! Really useful, rigged it up for us with rope, which they leaded, bait sache and a big float! Dan

Hi guys! having seen these ( http://livebaitlarry.com/index.php?main_pa...products_id=152 ) for keeping big things alive in the US for tuna fishing... does anyone think a scaled down version would be feasible for mackerel in the UK? Im thinking that 3 or 4 smaller tubes off the transom would take up a lot less space than a massive 100ltr livebait tank, and has the potential to expand to a few more tubes very easily... Alright it wouldnt hold the "40 joeys with ease" as would Wedgers tanks, but im just wondering what people think about the potential for this! any commets appreciated!!! Dan

Despite forecasts of showers and cloudy skies on thursday, we decided to head out to a little mark off swannage, with the hope of rays, leaving the possibility of bream as a backup plan! Upon arriving at the first mark, the weather was already clearing to a brilliant blue sky, and was pretty quickly followed by a couple of doggies as the end of flood approached. We took the slack as an oppertunity to move, and headed 200m or so, to an area that looked slightly more productive, fishing on the tidal flow between the double high tide. Again not much luck on our target species, but a few doggies (Dad managed two, on one bait at one point!) With the end of the 2nd flood, we again took the chance to move outwards again, to something that looked a bit more interesting on the plotter. As soon as the tide started flowing, finally success! Dad hooked into a big ray at 14lb, which then decided to impersonate a dustbin lid as it was being hauled up! After this, we changed both rods to squid baits (the other was on sandeel, catching not much...). Within 15 minutes, more success on my rod with another Undulate ray, again at 14lb (you cant get much fairer!!) So on all parts, a pretty good days fishing for us! Catching something that bends a rod! Dan (ps... if its not an undulate, please say! )
