  1. Hi Fred Just in case you are being serious, the majority of the working population work between 7am & 6pm Most get a reasonable nights sleep, if they are lucky, so they tend to be more fresh and awake in the morning than on thier homeward journey. So if it's darker in the morning there is more chance of drivers being more alert than in the afternoon after a hard days work and thinking about going fishing as soon as he/she gets home. I am all for the extra hour. The SNP, Scottish lot, wont block the proposal as they will keep the same old times as they can now make their own laws, you will just have to change your clocks every time you go to Scotland. Coddy

    The Rooster

A farmer goes out one day and buys a brand new stud rooster for his chicken coop. The new rooster struts over to the old rooster and says, "OK old fart, time for you to retire." The old rooster replies, "Come on, surely you cannot handle ALL of these chickens. Look what it has done to me. Can't you just let me have the two old hens over in the corner?" The young rooster says, "Beat it: You are washed up and I am taking over." The old rooster says, "I tell you what, young stud. I will race you round the farmhouse. Whoever wins gets the exclusive domain over the entire chicken coop." The young rooster laughs. "You know you don't stand a chance old man. So, just to be fair I will give you a head start." The old rooster takes off running. About 15 seconds later the young rooster takes off running after him. They round the front porch of the farmhouse and the young rooster has closed the gap. He is already about 5 inches behind the old rooster and gaining fast. The farmer, meanwhile, is sitting in his usual spot on the front porch when he sees the roosters running by. He grabs his shotgun and - BOOM - He blows the young rooster to bits. The farmer sadly shakes his head and says, "Dammit... third gay rooster I bought this month." >>> > > Moral of this story.... Don't mess with the OLD FARTS - age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill. ..........Now where could I apply that moral???????????? Coddy

    Digital Cameras

Hi James I have a Fuji sureshot 203, bit old now but I am sure they do an equiverlent. I would suggest you go for as many pixels as possible and optical zoom rather than digital as this gives better quality. Then go onto one of those compare prices web sites and see who is selling it at the best price. Hope this helps a bit Coddy

  16. Hi all I needed a new power lead for my Lowrance GPS, so I emailed Silva who in turn passed on my request to their distributor Phiad Marine The guy there came back to me quickly and told me that due to its age the original was not available but this plug would fit. I duly ordered the part and within a few days it duly arrived. I can reccomend this company for anyone wanting Lowrance spares. They do have a web site Phiad Marine They are based in Glasgow if you are ever up that way. Hope this helps someone. Coddy

They have a number of new methods they are trying out and need feed back on differant conditions etc. They also have a nice new jet boat that is under trial and the beach recover it by driving it in at 24kts+ No keel band either! 22. Hi all Came across this site and downloaded it seems to wrk fine. It has a limited number of UK locations but includes Bournemouth, Weymouth & Portsmouth for tidal points. You can get it here J Tides Do read the download instructions first. I found that it did not automaticly add an icon to your desktop but this can be easily sorted. It does require Java to run but that can be downloaded at the same site if you don't have it already loaded on your PC. Oh, best bit it is 'Freeware' so it does not cost you anything and it does not run out of dates! Enjoy Coddy

    C-map-nt

Hi I use C-Map NT+ in the Navman and have no problem in going down to 0.05 nm (chart dependant) down to 0.01nm in plotter mode. I use the PC Planner NT+ in which you use your map card and it brings up the area of where you want to see in some detail down to 0.9 miles. Coddy

    Old Mags Wanted

I was in Poole Angling yesterday and saw a pile of old magazines by the door. Spoke to Andy, the owner, and he said help yourself and bring any in you don't want. Seems like a good idea to me to drop them down to the shop so others can have a read of old mags to pass the time away when not fishing. So when the FPO says get rid of those mags drop them into the shop. Coddy
