  2. What, already??? That was quick!! Paul, can you bring the Solid-C with you on Sunday? cheers BF
  3. You've gotta be pleased with that. I wonder where you caught it??
  4. I'm not allowed to download it yet. It's clashed with some other applications we use at work. These are not applications that are commonly used by the general public, though. BF
  5. Yes, flares do become unstable with age, as can be testified by one of the Skippers who had an old flare blow up in his hands! However, I have unofficially heard it said that it should be safe to keep the flares for upto a year after their expiry date as a spare, but these should not be considered as a main flare because their peformance/effectiveness will have deteriated. But how can you advocate this on a forum? An expiry date is an expiry date, I guess. Owner beware! If the flares have not been properly kept this could be bad advice. BF
  6. Dave I've updated your club membership details. cheers BF
  7. And don't forget our knot animations in Tackle Talk - Terminal Rigs.

    Help

Mikey Your unit will work just fine with it set at 200MHz and auto ranging. There's really no need to use 50MHz in the Poole Bay area 'cus it's too shallow to make use of it. It can come in useful when trying to locate a small mark like a wreck, where the wider cone helps you intially spot the wreck. But then you need to swap to 200MHz to get a precise location. BF
  9. Perhaps some people decided to stop in the fog for fear of not knowing what was coming the other way??? That would be my main concern in the fog. It's all very well knowing where you are going by looking at your plotter, but if you can't see or hear (a yacht is pretty quiet) what's coming towards you it's perhaps more prudent to wait for clearer conditions.

    Which Boot?

Well, for good or for bad, I've gone with the Neoprene Boot and fleece lined socks to deter the sweating. I tried out the Skeetex boats and at 6' 4" I didn't like the added height they gave and the clumpy walking. I'll stay with what comes natural...smelly feet! Thanks for your comments, every one. BF
  12. Ah, yes! That's the camera we use for our Kayaking, too. A great little camera. 6 mega pixels and waterproof. It should be in everyone's Xmas Stocking!! BF

    Thank You

    Welcome, Bob.
  14. Not a red letter day for Splash-Out. Fished the Spoil Grounds and then the Slates. Strap Conger, Pout and LSD were the order of the day. Heard of some good fish on other boats, though. Paul J - Pollack 10lb. Whistler - 20lb Blonde. Nipper - 4lb Brill. Great to see Cascars and his buddies. Baiter was buzzing with fishing boats. BF
