  13. Rob, Paul D didn't winge to long as after our mackey bashing we went to drift the Ledge and PD was into bass on the first drift.....but that was probably because he was borrowing one of my rods.... and the day just got bettter with a steady flow of bass to live baits and lures. We had fish topping all round the boat.......and just to mention PD lost a good fish.... We then went of to a mark of the Island to try for some rays but had to contend with tope....But great fun anyway. Tomo
  14. Hi Steve, Welcome to the forum and as the other lads have said it is well worth joining the club as the help and knowledge is always there and someone is always ready to help if you'r in a fix. Anyway it would be good for another Pirate 21 owner in the club .......What engine set up have you got ? Tomo
  15. Hi Lads, I am after any advice on your experiences with Split Charge Diodes for charging a twin battery instalation. I am currently installing a new pair of 85 ah batteries which are controlled via a heavy duty battery changeover switch, but I am considering installing a split charging diode to ensure even charging of the batteries but have not any experience of the suitability of these so would appreciate any help or opinions. Regards Tomo
  16. And there were refreshments on hand........What will the weekend be.....guess no drifting for plaice!!!!!!

    Anti-foul

Hi Lads, I have been following this thread with intrest and would like to enquire what make /type of antifouling would you recommend for my Pirate 21 which is a 40 knt + craft, although 30 knts is about the limit I push it.......Last years International product applied, wore off in record time. I keep the boat at Tuckton which is very low in salinity and I have been told that normal saltwater antifoul coatings do no work in these type of conditions and infact can have problems with adhesion. It appears every anifouling' specialist' has a diffrent opinion! Tomo

    Silent / quiet pump?

HI Adam, I used the same setup as Rob except I used the new type of skin fitting with an isolating valve and the pump scews into the valve. The whole unit is a composite material and so you have no problem with the possability of electrolysis you can experience with the conventional brass skin fitting and ball valve. I got mine from Christchurch Boat Shop. Tomo
  24. Hi Lads, Any local suppliers of good quality deep cycle batteries... at a good price.I need a couple of 100 Ah batteries. Tomo
