  2. Hi Trev, Jets are definatley a No No in Xchurch Harbour as the shallow water spells disaster, the gravel knackers them in no time....I have a mate who found out to his extreme exspense Twin 300hp Yamaha's.......only draws 500 to 600 mm so the Xchurch run will no longer be a problem ..(.I may live to regret that statement ) But I am going for the Hysu foils as it makes about 10 to 15 % fuel saving Plus a further 8 to 10 Knots. Tomo
  3. Paul, If it dosn't sell it would mean her in doors would have to let me keep it.....mmmmm New Boat is 10.6 metre SwiftCat Tomo

  14. Hi Lad's I have done a detaled analysis of the frequency of members posting on the forum, in relation to a comparable analysis of the prevailing weather, and the phase of the moon related to the proximity of birthdays, christmas or taking the wife shopping instead of going fishing!!!!! My summary is ...if the weather is sh...t, we would all rather be on the forum... than be associated with the alternatives. What say you! Tomo

    Screen heaters

Hi Chris, I got one from Force 4........beware..make sure your output from your cigar socket is rated high enough as it melted mine, the wiring, housing and the plug. The fuse did not blow, as it was, as recomended.. they are not rated for the continual power draw.. I then got a proper 12 volt power plug that could cope with the Amperage that they draw, for the period of time you have them on. Cigar lighters are only rated for short bursts ...as I found out. PJ, I think he was refering to the number of (few) years ago...not that you are verticaly challenged Tomo
  23. Lads, For what its worth I can tow my Pirate 21 with a 4x4, no trouble...... Build quality..... Very Good..not brilliant ... as the yard seems to change each boat that comes out of the mould to suit the last purchasers comments...... As for sea keeping qualities....ask the lads that were onboard going through the Swinge. with me.....In Alderney... The 18 is a great boat, as I have taken it out in Wales in very rough conditions. Tomo
  24. Hi Terry, Sand samples have been taken from well inside of Xchurch Harbour...nearly at Xchurch Quay ......to be identified as the exact same sand that is being dredged out of Poole and pumped ashore at Southbourne!! The Dredging company must be ing getting paid to take it out of Poole...and getting paid again to dump it at Southbourne...a win win senario....Shame they can't get a contract to then take the same sand out of Xchurch Tomo
  25. That means then after a couple of storms...it will get dumped in the Xchurch run / entrance..as it did last time.. as if we havn't got enough sand bars.. Tomo
