Thanks for the tips Lads,
I am happy at the opinion that mono still rules with uptiding. I intend to give it a serious bash once I get afloat again but I will be initially fishing out of Walton in Essex...............So I will be on known territory but will be giving it a trial on our own marks......maybe the Dolphin Banks rather than Poole Harbour as I fish out of Christchurch.

Hi Guys
It was 35 years ago that I did my last stint of uptiding, which was all we did in the Thames Estuary fishing for rays etc. and reel line used was only mono......
Now I intend to have another bash and wonder which is the best line for uptiding, braid or mono ?
Any opinions would be appreciated.

Hi Adam, for your guidance I have attached a link which should be self explanitory
Navigation light requirement Webpage
In Addition it would be adviseable to include a white achor light if you intend to do much night fishing.

Hi Rob,
I had a very nasty experience with hiring one of their trailers when I collected my boat from Wales, the brakes failed and the overrun packed up halfway back and I stoved in the back of a car in front. Phone Ambrows and they wern't really interested.....told me to leave the trailer and boat and they would try and resolve it the next day! It took us about 5 hrs to do a temporary fix and when we got the trailer back 2 days late they said they would not charge me for the addional hire!!!!
The trailer was not fit for hire.......so thanks but no thanks.

Thanks for that Gordon............Any comments on how good the side imaging was as this was the main reason for considering it, as my current system (C120) is more than adequate as a radar, gps and fishfinder.
Thanks,

IT MAKES OUR CONSERVATION EFFORTS TOTALLY FRUITLESS!!!!

Launching is not so much a problem...........its retrieval that's the real problem as the drop of at the end of the slip will not allow you to pull boat and trailer out together. Ive, launched my Pirate 21 ( Souter 21 built by Pembrokshire ) at low water just be carefull as you back the wheels over the ledge...You can retrieve the empty trailer providing you have a 4 x 4 .
I would say as a guide to be safe, 2 hrs either side of low water springs for launching and mid tide for retrieval.
