  1. The pollock are showing further west, but reports suggest a way offshore 25m+
  2. Paul, Went for one of these, they assure the availablity of spares too: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Marine-Automatic-Fre...1QQcmdZViewItem So, 15mm SS tube 6" long up the transom and then 90 deg bend taking it through the transom to a tank fitting, from here hose to a Y value with diverters - 1 goes to the deck wash, the other to my live tank - sorted!

    Boat Insurance

Generally I agree Tom, however I insure through Porthcawl, they have been one of the cheapest every year I ring round, and they do cover me for such things as you mention. It is worth checking though, and Porthcawl only insured me for 25 miles + when I requested it (they didnt charge me though!)
  4. ...You want to get out and help him then!
  5. Right, I have my pump - a 40PSI 20l/min jobbie. I'm going for a 50/50 solution, a transom pick-up, but with the tubing running through the transom, not over it - more stealth My last 2 Q's, similar Sinbad's is where to source the self coiling hose? B&Q sell them, but they are 100' in length!! Finally, how do I split the flow off to a live bait tank AND control the flow, I dont want 40 PSI into my macky!!
  6. Al, May be room on OotB, a window seems to be opening, so a trip is on the cards, not too sure where or what for yet, shall we speak at the end of the week? Adam
  7. I actually live in Verwood - but it would look a little strange... Poole - My 'home' port
  8. Transom shot...
  9. Picked up new new graphics courtesy of Graham Bealing (Oysterboats) on Sat, so it's all official now - Out of the Blue has been 'christened'
  10. Hmmmm, a busy week bekons - but the forecast looks cracking, I could be tempted by a late start on Thurs...??
  11. Thanks Simon - good installation and helpful photos. Cheers
  12. Mike, KAM has some - I actually 'bought' them off him, but due to a change in boat dont need them anymore - whilst I will still honour the deal with KAM, if you want to take them instead - be my guest (as long as KAM doesnt mind!) Adam
  13. Ah! OK, sorry Kam, off soapbox now - all is forgiven!
  14. Sorry Kam - but what a load of bo$$ocks! 16 tonne of bream is one hell of a lot of fish - esp for one boat Yes, sure anglers will damage stocks, but even a whole charter fleet from a port like Weymouth wouldnt land 16 tonne of bream in a month!
  15. Acetone?? For christs sake - dont pay 12 quid a litre!! 99p for 500ml at Tesco - more commonly known as nail varnish remover!
  16. I might go... anyone want a lift en-route from Verwood?

    Inflating My Buoy?

Thanks guys - if I dont make it to the garage during the week, Ill pop into the haven on Thurs Charlie. Cheers
  18. I have bought a new Alderney Bouy for OOTB, but it came deflated (for postage reasons) Now, I thought that it would simply be case of a football type needle adaptor and a handpump, but the needle doesnt seem big enough? The value has a plug which unscrews and I dont want to puncture the buoy by forcing the needle too far.. Any ideas?
  19. Nice one Paul - a super boat. I would be inetrested in a trip out in her - as I had considered a Orkney 20 before I bought OOTB. Well done!

    New Trailer

Not really - its is 165lbs BW was 75kgs and it took a two handed left to put her on the hitch. It all depends on the boat and trailer set-up - my little box trailer has a hitch weight of about 20kgs and it tows not problem, but then the whole trailer even fully loaded is never over 200kgs... The heavier the trailer the more weight is needed on the nose to balance it up - I think....
  21. I see from the photo you had the new trailer stored with the handbrake 'ON' - sorry of I'm teaching egg sucking, but this is bad news on a braked trailer Paul - the slightest amount of moisture in the air and the shoes will 'stick' to the drums making the trailer hard of not improssible to move - you'll also eat up replacement shoes (which aint cheap) If it will roll, chock the wheels, if not leave it alone. BTW - Have you put the trailer on B&O's?? Im sure you will move it on their...
  22. New boat les?

    New Trailer

Hmmm - the nose weight is obviously linked to the gross weight of the rig? We weighed OOTB yesterday - 45kgs - but this is far too light. The whole rig comes in at an estimated 1300kgs and begins to snake over 50mph - I really want 60-70kgs at the nose (which is what BW had) to stop snaking and give a steady tow.
  24. Nope! She ran level and true and responded well to triming the engine - that said, after running her for only 1 hour, I think that trim tabs may further improve the ride (as they did on BW) The engine is the real star of the package - it gives blistering performance, a mega fast hole shot and is whisper quiet - I hope the SS prop gives me the extra few revs and improves this even more! The plotter was also ace - not alot more to say really, but the big screen is a real luxury.
  25. Flying up the swash!
