    Inflating My Buoy?

Thanks guys - if I dont make it to the garage during the week, Ill pop into the haven on Thurs Charlie. Cheers
  2. I have bought a new Alderney Bouy for OOTB, but it came deflated (for postage reasons) Now, I thought that it would simply be case of a football type needle adaptor and a handpump, but the needle doesnt seem big enough? The value has a plug which unscrews and I dont want to puncture the buoy by forcing the needle too far.. Any ideas?
  3. Nice one Paul - a super boat. I would be inetrested in a trip out in her - as I had considered a Orkney 20 before I bought OOTB. Well done!

    New Trailer

Not really - its is 165lbs BW was 75kgs and it took a two handed left to put her on the hitch. It all depends on the boat and trailer set-up - my little box trailer has a hitch weight of about 20kgs and it tows not problem, but then the whole trailer even fully loaded is never over 200kgs... The heavier the trailer the more weight is needed on the nose to balance it up - I think....
  5. I see from the photo you had the new trailer stored with the handbrake 'ON' - sorry of I'm teaching egg sucking, but this is bad news on a braked trailer Paul - the slightest amount of moisture in the air and the shoes will 'stick' to the drums making the trailer hard of not improssible to move - you'll also eat up replacement shoes (which aint cheap) If it will roll, chock the wheels, if not leave it alone. BTW - Have you put the trailer on B&O's?? Im sure you will move it on their...

    New Trailer

Hmmm - the nose weight is obviously linked to the gross weight of the rig? We weighed OOTB yesterday - 45kgs - but this is far too light. The whole rig comes in at an estimated 1300kgs and begins to snake over 50mph - I really want 60-70kgs at the nose (which is what BW had) to stop snaking and give a steady tow.
  8. Nope! She ran level and true and responded well to triming the engine - that said, after running her for only 1 hour, I think that trim tabs may further improve the ride (as they did on BW) The engine is the real star of the package - it gives blistering performance, a mega fast hole shot and is whisper quiet - I hope the SS prop gives me the extra few revs and improves this even more! The plotter was also ace - not alot more to say really, but the big screen is a real luxury.
  9. Flying up the swash!
  10. About to leave...
  11. Well, should have taken the rods! - what a lovely morning! To sum it up, absolutley chuffed with the new boat - what a machine!! Totally different boat to the 165... We topped out at 5200 RPM and 34 knots against the ebb tide in the harbour! Out past Old Harry, it was pretty snotty, but the 175 cruised over the chop as smooth at 30 knots as 10 knots
  12. Thanks for the ideas chaps. Simon - I like the look of your installation and will give you a call to discuss further. Others - also thanks. I do have access via the bilge hatch to the rear of the underside, so could route a skin fitting here?

    Sea Angler

Havent seen it yet.... but I'm guessing??...
  14. Not fishing I'm afraid - wedding planning is now begining to ramp up and I only have a few hours free in the morning, so purely play time only! Gordon is coming down to help out, but you are also more than welcome, esp. if you are fishing anyway - some on water shots would be good?
  15. I need to adjust my trailer also, but I also want to have some high speed runs, so will be opting for Baiter...
  16. For sale due to a slight mistake.... Brand new, in box, never opened, full warrenty etc, etc... Full info here: http://www.garmin.com/products/ff340c/ They cost
  17. For Sale: Shimano Charter Special 1000LD - this is the smaller size. All in good working order, about 2 years old, but well looked after and in good nick. The drag is a little sticky so a quick service wouldnt be a bad idea. The best price online is about
  18. Well she has been sat on the drive for 2 weeks and hasnt been wet yet - but it is drawing close - Sat with any luck The postman must be p$$sed off with me and goodies have been arriving daily from across the globe - it's been like Christmas! The prop came back from prop revs today, Bob F sorted another small issue with the VHF so we now have full DSC and all the toys are now fitted to the dash. Deckwash, livebait tank, a load of S/S and a canopy to fit and we will be fully up and running! Piccy showing 10.5" colour plotter, colour FF and Icom VHF all ready to go...
  19. Jas, When I was looking for moorings a few months ago, Sam Chapman suggested Poole Haven Boat Park - they do short term berths and are nice and secure - may be worth looking into that??
  20. I wanna fit a 'proper' deck wash to OOTB. I am using a Par Max 4 pump which is an inline design so needs a feed. My last one fitted on the transom, but I want this to be a little more stealth - so I presume I fit a skin fitting and then route a hose from this to the pump? But, where do I put the fitting? Under the hull, on the transom?? Also a little nervous about drilling holes under the waterline - do I have any other options?
  21. Bob F has sorted it - it was quite simple. I was connecting to the shield wire, not the inner core - sounds stupid yes, but I had never seen this shielded cable before. Cheers Bob - all toys now well on the way to being fitted - maiden launch not far away!
  22. Help? Just installing the toys on to OotB, but I cant get the Garmin 2010 Plotter to talk to the Icom 422 VHF. The installation diagram for the 2010 is complex but doesnt explicitly show the NMEA connections - it just shows Port 1 in and out, Port 2 in and out and Port 3 in and out. I have tried all ports, and I have made sure the 2010 is set to NMEA out and in. I have checked the software updates and they are all current and match the requirements of each unit.. Now I'm stumped - any ideas??

Bob - Where is your article you wrote? I need to put two batteries in OotB - I have got my switch, but not too sure how to wire it? BTW - If anyone wants a battery x-over switch let me know as I have a spare one due to a mix up when ordering.
