    White Gelcoat

Does anyone have a small quantity of white gel that I could have? I need to fill a few small scratches and holes on the new boat. Ta
  2. Coddy, 18/25mm Ply is adequate, it needs to be about the same size as the 'foot' that mates with the transom. Its not essential and I dont think Warrior use them, but BW had one fitted and I thought it a good idea. The one I have taken off the new boat was bolted using self tapping carrage bolts... Lastly, bolt heads on the outside, nuts on the inside.
  3. Owners I have spoken to tell me that it's a rare day when you can open the throttle - however I have been told that 38-40 knots is attainable when lightly loaded - I'm expetcting about 32-32 will all th kit onboard. Re. the prop, I think the best idea is to wait until the Alloy prop comes back and run the boat up on that to see what it pulls. Its just a shame that the only 16" prop is from Honda at silly money.

  5. Ive talked to prop revs, they dont carry a 16, only 15's - hence my question and yes coddy the one they offer has a universal hub. The reason for wanting a S/S is to have a more durabel prop for Xchurch, plus Ill have the alloy spare for when it's really shallow. Back to the question - am I going to get too many revs with a 15" pitch?

    Huge Chub

Well done Dan - superb fish! My best is 7lb from Wedgehill (you'll know this venue) best from a river is a tad over 5. If you send me the photo Ill put it up.
  7. I think I'll probably answer my own question here, but anyway... I have a 13.25" x 17 Alloy prop on the Honda at present. I want to upgrade to a S/S and Warrior tell me that the Alloy prop revs to about 5600/5800. The engine is rated to 6000 WOT. Warrior recommend an upgrade to the 16" pitch S/S prop, but these are like like rocking horse poo and only available from Honda at over

Not too sure yet Paul. The engine is going into Poole Marine Services on Weds for a once over and the prop is over at Prop Revs having a missing chunk replaired, so not this w/e. However if I can find a S/S prop this week I'll take her out. Why, do you fancy joining me?
  11. They have, but not for the older models, only for the 2007, 4000 series units. I have ordered the 320c FF, but they have upgraded me FOC to the 340c - I would actually prefer the older model! I may look into getting the charts from the US - is the G2 better than the old ones? Find it a little strange that the US sells UK charts though!
  12. Dom, 29th April is the trail-away to Burnham, we have offered them either the first specimen hunt or the May bream comp and are waiting to hear back to see what suits best. I'll be posting more details in due course. Adam
  13. What are you replacing it with then?

Phil - B&O's is where I found her, along with the other one which fell through. IMO its the best place to find a boat. www.findafishingboat.co.uk can also be good. If you are looking for a 175, their is a 2004 boat on their at the moment with a 90 Honda for
  15. I ended up with the 2010c - at a price that not even the US could beat - a little bit of an error on the dealers part, but fair play to him - he honoured the deal. Should be here in a few days so will let you know what I think!

Cruising Endurance - I guess, is how far / long you can cruise on an average sea with a full tank of fuel. As a rough example on BW it would have been 20 knots cruising speed, using approx 1l per mile of fuel. Therefore my fuel capacity was 50l, which equates to 50 miles (using 1 knot = 1 mile which of course needs altering slightly). This would have taken 2 hours 30 mins which would be my cruising endurance in time. Hope this helps?
  17. It doesnt matter Harry. It depends on the setup of your boat, as you are correct in that you need to balance out the weight, so consdier where your batteries etc are. Another tip is to make sure you back the bolts with a piece of marine ply or similar, just to spread the load. FYIW, mine was mounted high up on the portside, it worked fine here. Although I have seen many 165's with them mounted low in the engine well alongside the main engine. As for 2/4 strokes, if you only want it as as back-up go for a 2 stroke, simple to maintain and cheaper. If you are going to use it (trolling etc) then a 4 stroke is the way to go. 2nd hand 2 strokes are also easier to find.

Yep, I expect Garmin to be my choice, just trying to find the gear I want at the right prices at the moment. The 2007 Garmin kit (not available in the UK till Spring) has satalite photo basemaps, which are outstading in quality - I'm just a little unsure of how well they will supported in the UK at the moment by Garmin.. http://www.garmin.com/marine2007/index.html Its a good time of year to get her though, I've got a good few weeks of fitting out etc to do before the plaice arrive What have you decided to fit on GWII?
  19. Hmmm, I was looking at the Garmin 2210c, but have since found this was developed for the US market only, the Worldwide equivelent is the 2010 or the 2110, both more expensive!
  20. Q: If I purchase a Garmin Plotter unit from the US, it will come with a US basemap. Does this mean it cant be used in the UK? If I pop in a UK Bluechart will the unit take the map from their and therefore work? Ta Adam

  23. 3000 posts! Wow, Assuming it takes me a minute to write a post on average (more like 2/3 I'd have thought) that is 50 hours or just over 2 full days! ...Blimey, I must get out more...
  24. Dont they all?!?!.... The 60hp Mariner EFI 4 Stk is a little underpowered on th 165, however the 60hp Suzi is a different beast (according to reports)... 4 stokes do use most of their fuel in the last 1/4 of the rev range, so yes running larger will be better. The figures quoted above are very similar to what BW used to run at though, its all see saws and swings. Will be interesting to see what the big BF115 runs at!
