    Personal Info

It's sad to hear your id had been cloned and you'd lost out as a result. However, I believe the bank is responsible for the lose as long as you can prove fraudulent. It's worth investing in a shredder. Shred all unwanted documents with personal information on them. The costs about
  2. I bought a coastal set from Aladins cave in Hamble for
  3. I have some 6mm polyp... (something) rope, the blue stuff, good for general purpose I supposed. I might also have a 10mm nylon rope, but that depends on how much I have got left over from making a lazy line for the anchor. On the bit about your mooring rope, was it nylon? It shouldn't rot, not in a few years anyway.

    Live Sandeels

Allan Marine in Portsmouth (2 mins off the end of motorway from your end) does live sandeels. However, I've heard the one in Gosport does it from time to time, but I can't remember their name. The up side is that there are lots of slipsway you can launch your boat from. If you want to keep them alive for a few hours, all you need is a large bucket with a tie fitting lid with a hole drilled in, plus a cheapy battery operated air pump. The lid is required when you roar off in your boat, the water will splash out. All you do is put the tube thru the hole and hey presto it reduces the spill. You can get the cheappy pump from e bay for about

  12. I thought you broke your rod on the Solent trailaway? Or was that another rod you have broken too?
  13. Not long after we got married, the missus bought a micra. It was the 3 doors version and we thought it was right choice, as it was only for us 2. However, we regretted our decision soon after because, on the 3 doors, the doors are much longer than the 5 doors, making opening doors in carparks with narrow spaces very difficult. You have to open them that much wider to get out. 5 doors might not look as smart as the 3 doors, but as Martin and mike said, it gives you better option and resale value.

What the hell are you guys talking about? My guess is some sort of mono with a 1.6 ish, making it near invisible in water?
  15. I'm surprised no one mention some of the non run of the mill 4x4, like volvo v70 4x4 or Audi quattro. Both have been out a little while and 2nd hand price are very reasonable. No sure of the audi, but I've had a 240 glt and 850 glt estate before, although they weren't the 4x4 version but both packed an extremely powerful punch, they will tow anything (almost). Since most of our lanuchng and retrieving are done on hardslip/concrete, the 4x4 traction is surely all we need?! The volvo might not be the cheapest car to run, but reliablity is excellent, and there are enough volvo specialist about to keep the service costs down.
  16. Rich, the weed problem only confine in the solent area, as soon as you are out in the open, it ain't a problem.
  17. When we chartered out of Gosport, the skippers always go for the overfalls, which is a few mile south of the NT. I guess guys over @ SFG, specially Gus knows more about it than I do.
