  6. They are outside the front door if you are passing by.
  7. Depending what sort of fishing you intend to do, but I would say, a light 8-12lb, med 20lb and heavy 30lb would be a starting point. It doesn't matter how many reels and rods you have, it's never enough, we love our toys......
  8. Sorry, gone to Dommieboy, but if it doesn't fit his outboard, I'n sure he will pass it on to one that fits.

Large net free to anyone who wants it, too big to fit thru your letter box, so pick up only in Andover. Net is sound, but can do with a new handle.

    rods on a plane

you can bet your ass on EJ will charge you for the rods. For most airlines (BA, Virgin, etc) the weight is included in the total allowance, but the total deminsion ie, w+h+d need to be under 2m or something. It should say in your paperless ticket.

    norway

Tom, are you going to Skerjeck (?) with your mate Dave Lewis? If you are, are you doing self drive, Pendlar(big wooden boat) or Hugar's 30' boat? I think we made the mistake of going on Pendlar, yes it can go out further on a rougher day, but Hugar's boat is much faster so less time travelling. Not to mention we were charged something like

    norway

You don't need big boat to go miles out. In most places, you are in 300-400 ft within 10 mins motoring. Problem with flying out is the limited luggage allowance, a few pirks+jigs and you are already over the limit. And SAS are very tight on weight, so expect to get stunk if you bring plenty of tackle. On the other hands, tackles are expensive over there, a chrome pirk can be 10-20 pounds. When we were there, a group of german were there too, but they drove up there in 2-3 vans, plenty of tackles plus they take ALL their fish, filleted, frozen and then take home in iceboxes. So I suppose driving is viable if you are up to it. (didn't Jeremy Clarkson drive up to Finland/norway in a Mer 500SL or something in a day?) There's another thread about Norway about a month or so ago, do a search, more info in that one I think.

food and drink are very expensive. When I went in 06, we (4 of us) went to the supermarket twice in 7 days, and each time spent over

    uk tuna?

Spoke to John Keggie last year and he was planning some tuna trips this year from Oban. He said they would be part of a 3 days trip when he would go over the top of Ireland.
  21. Out on Tomcat yesterday. Best day fishing by far. The weather was good, sea was flat as a pancake. No prob getting baits, bass and breams were playing balls. In the end, we had (between 5 of us) 21 bass and 22 breams. 3 bass in bouble figures, 11lb 6, 11lb 4 and 10lb 2, half a dozen between 7-10, and a few small one thrown in. Bream was up to 4lb, and most in the 2-3 range.

    Vacuum Sealer

Well, strickly speaking not a fishing tackle but thought it would be good for bagging mackeral into freezeer for winter use. Good price I thought, only 14.99 http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c....cuum_Sealer.ar6

    Anchor Buoy

There was a post last week about someone collects them along the beach after storms, think it might be Coddy's post about Alderney ring.........
  25. I may have one, but..... I don't know where it is. I had 2, I sold one (to a member, can't remember who) and the other one was in the garage. But last year I put all the boating stuff into the shed, I will have to dig around when I have a minute.
