I saw a Muslim fall into the river this morning and being a responsible citizen, I informed the emergency services. It's 6:00 PM and they still haven't responded ! I'm now starting to think I've wasted a stamp !

At the moment I use a 5kg Bruce with 5m of chain, although when I had my Sea Safety Check recently, Mike showed me a table that recommended a 7.5kg Bruce for my Warrior 165.

Someone from CSI came this morning and fingerprinted it. Nothing like the CSI on tv though! Not blonde or female for a start. Haven't got DataTAG, off to Google it now to see what it is.

They certainly left in a hurry. Took me by surprise, it was a while before I stopped shaking. In hindsight I wish I'd tripped them up, but with two big lads running at me shouting my first instinct was to get out of the way. It happened at 21:30 and I was quite impressed by the police response, first officer was here within about 15 mins, after cruising the area looking for anyone out of breath or acting suspiciously, a second car turned up a few minutes later and a third car with two officers about 22:00. I imagine that in view of the other outboard thefts that have occured, they are taking it seriously.

Be warned, your motors are not safe, even if you've got a lock. I've just disturbed two "scumbags" trying to pinch my new auxillary, from MegaByte in the driveway. It was just by chance that I needed to get something from the garage. There's no sign of the lock that was threaded through it, the clamps were undone, but luckily I'd also made up a hidden clamp and hammered the ends of the threads. I didn't get a good look at them, it all happened so fast.

I had the names for MegaByte done at Elite Signs, who are at the "Bottom of Blandford Road Hamworthy", near the Potters Arms. I've just been back and had a replacement for a logo on an outboard motor, they matched the original perfectly.
