  1. Graham Was that you that came out of Rockley on Monday, while I was sat on one of the moorings flounder fishing? If it was, I appologise for not recognising you.
  2. At the moment I use a 5kg Bruce with 5m of chain, although when I had my Sea Safety Check recently, Mike showed me a table that recommended a 7.5kg Bruce for my Warrior 165.
  3. That's what I keep telling her.

    Anchors and Rope

Rory I told you wrong, I've just checked the new anchor rope that I've got, but haven't rigged yet is 10mm not 12mm.
  5. Monday looks like being the best day this week, so I think I'll have to go fishing. I'll be launching at Cobbs at about 10:00ish. If you're out give me a call on Ch6.
  6. Don't you find that a bit inconvenient.

  8. Thanks for the great offer Nige, I took my grandson for a couple of hours beach fishing instead. Did anyone catch anything?
  9. I won't be fishing the comp tomorrow on MegaByte, my crew has just canceled.
  10. Charlie Thanks for that, I'll keep it in mind. Jim Apparently you're not allowed to cut their hands off now, probably something to do with their human rights. I think all the courts can do is, pat them on the back and send them on a holiday!!!!

  12. Someone from CSI came this morning and fingerprinted it. Nothing like the CSI on tv though! Not blonde or female for a start. Haven't got DataTAG, off to Google it now to see what it is.
  13. If I thought I had a chance of catching a "Huge Blonde", I'd give the fishing a miss.
  14. That's what the police said, I've now taken everything off the boat.
  15. Got two security lights, so I think they had enough light to see what they were doing ok.
  16. Funny you should say that. I'm about to look into it.
  17. They certainly left in a hurry. Took me by surprise, it was a while before I stopped shaking. In hindsight I wish I'd tripped them up, but with two big lads running at me shouting my first instinct was to get out of the way. It happened at 21:30 and I was quite impressed by the police response, first officer was here within about 15 mins, after cruising the area looking for anyone out of breath or acting suspiciously, a second car turned up a few minutes later and a third car with two officers about 22:00. I imagine that in view of the other outboard thefts that have occured, they are taking it seriously.
  18. Be warned, your motors are not safe, even if you've got a lock. I've just disturbed two "scumbags" trying to pinch my new auxillary, from MegaByte in the driveway. It was just by chance that I needed to get something from the garage. There's no sign of the lock that was threaded through it, the clamps were undone, but luckily I'd also made up a hidden clamp and hammered the ends of the threads. I didn't get a good look at them, it all happened so fast.

    Boat Graphix

I had the names for MegaByte done at Elite Signs, who are at the "Bottom of Blandford Road Hamworthy", near the Potters Arms. I've just been back and had a replacement for a logo on an outboard motor, they matched the original perfectly.
  21. I can't think of anything else. I assume when you say 25:1, it'll be fresh fuel. Trevor, 1 question. I'm about to write a cheque for the pennant, who do I make it payable to?
  22. I would also check the gearbox oil.
  23. Paul, you need to go fishing.
  24. I now think I must have lost it on the way to Cobbs. Someone took a photo at about 16:00 and it was missing then. The annoying thing is, I don't mormally leave it flying, but left it up last time because it was wet.
  25. I had a club pennant when I left home yesterday, but I've just noticed that I haven't got one now. I left home at Beacon Park Road at about 13:30, launced at Cobbs Quay, spent about 3 hours in Holes Bay, then recovered and back home by 18:00. If anyone comes across a pennant on an old white VHF aerial somewhere along that route, it'll save me purchasing a replacement.
