Adam the first one looks quite simular to Marks old boat so perhaps you ought to speak to him about short falls. as he is awaiting his replacement there must be a good reason for changing. We use Honda 75 HP 4 strokes at work, good engines but servicing can be expensive as parts are not cheap. The second boat seems a good package for the money, plenty of room and lots of toys and a good trailer for those trail aways. Charlie

Hi Paul, I have just Bought a Lowrance Global Map 5000c plotter It had its first proper trip yesterday and I am really pleased with it. The screen was very clear from full sunshine to darkness and the navigation feature made coming back 11 miles in the dark a doddle. Its a water resistant set and uses the new Navionics Gold chart which is better than my old navionics chart by miles. Although it can overzoom right in if you turn off the mapping, I found that there was no need to, even when searching for a wreck I had not been to since decca died years ago. I had questioned why I had not settled for the 4000 black and white with a bigger screen and higher pixel count, but after 1 trip the choice to go for color seems a good one. So much so that I have ordered a color fish finder when they are available next month. I do not know what this set would cost in USA but I paid

We will have to keep an eye on that one But if the money is used well is a licence a bad thing? The trouble is getting an assurance that the money will be used well for sea anglers. and not to protect a few Salmon and Sea Trout Charlie

Hi Adam the 75HP Mariner 2 strokes we had in the Navy were good engines. Although we did not have many they shared many simular components to the 40 Hp 2 cylinder which is a very good outboard. As to the removing of antifoul. As peter said it can be done in a variety of ways 1 Scraped and sanded 2 Chemically removed 3 Wet blasted off but you will not know what the hull is like underneath The hull should either have been roughed up or a chemical GRP primer used to fuse into the gellcoat. Therefore the removal will not leave you a shiny smooth hull. Hope that helps Charlie

I second that, The more fish we put back the longer the fishing will last. We get good turn out and a good competition without the need to slaughter fish. Even our one comp where we weigh in only the best fish are brought in and some of those are kept alive to go back in after the weigh in. You and anyone else that has a liking for this type of fishing are more than welcome to join the Club and enter the friendly competitions if you wish. Charlie

I am sure that the people of Dorset will be glad to see this crew depart. I do not know how they were allowed to enter Gods country and as for tampering with the undersized fish of the Bristol Channel disgusting that is what it is . Should never be allowed. It does remind me of many hours [ Day and Night ] fishing on simular marks all along the Channel. unfortunatly back then the fishing was also poor. On Sunday we had over a dozen whiting with the best at 2lb 14oz. And the charter boats were into a few. as the tide died so did the whiting fishing, so the bigger tides this weekend should be better. Hope to get out at some stage this weekend, but not Sat AM. Tight lines Charlie
