  1. I use both in my two plotters , to be honest the navionics gold is much closer to the look of a paper chart I do not have AIS so can not comment
  2. Well done Mal Own boat to Alderney later this year or next?
  3. Great trip In excellent company and very fishable /safe weather Sorry for the lack of active reports, but vodaphone was playing up. Nice to see some familiar faces on the Island, all of which looked after us well. Michael in the chandlers got his reward from Chris on Kingfisher for the excellent fuel discount, Mark in the shop did some serious trade, the new position is far to convenient to avoid a stop at each morning. and Victoria on the Taxi looked after Dan and Craig on the late run back to the boats. Fishing report will follow Great to be back after two years missed. And great to see friends from the Club again, especially captain hook
  4. Good luck Fred Give them hell Be interesting to read the report to see what tackle and lures you get to use.
  5. Keeping an eye on the forecasts Was thinking of an early start but I still need to make an exact plan

Try asking one what instrument he plays Derek They always enjoy that one. Lol
  7. Well done Fred and team. With all that effort and practice not a lucky win After the meeting on Thursday I gave a brief on anchoring and recovery techniques. Out in Swanage today I very nearly lost mine. With other boats, kayaks and pot buoys around me it was a bit tricky finding a route to steam the Alderney ring on. Hope that the crack is an easy fix mate.
  8. Good call today guys I was at ballard by 7, it started raining and the wind came up The drone would not have flown today When the sun came out it was nice in Swanage, gentle warm breeze. For the second day running much better there than in Poole, and a few better size bream too.
  9. Early start today to beat the forcasted wind in Swanage there was only gentle breeze all day I am sleeping on board and meeting Will at about 7.30 Happy to push out to test the weather. But not if all the others are going to Arne Coming back this afternoon it was much worse in the swash than in Swanage bay Can someone text me the details as I will turn the mobile data off later Thanks
  10. Thanks Greg I will leave the boat down just for Jayden at the moment in case Sam also wants to take Jack. If he decided not too nearer the date I will be back in touch to see who needs a ride. Same in August, I will hold back now, but if Wendy's plan changes Alfresco comes available if needed.
  11. Sorry Mike I do not have a diary of the exact weather Forecast. It was accurate to what we experienced, and safe enough at a sensible passage speed [10-12 knots in the worst areas] but the swells mid channel stopped us all fishing which meant it was just a long slog home. We burnt as much fuel as we usually do wreck hopping and fishing all of the way. 17. Hi All Earlier today I visited Andy to spend the voucher that I picked up at the Dinner Dance. I was in there about a month ago and it was pretty bare, Wow what a difference since he got back from his travels. It is well stocked with a good variety of lures, jigs rigs etc. He has some pretty good rods and spinning reels at good prices too [well he has 1 less of each now] Before I left he gave me the tour and was proud of the big selection and quality of the bait that he holds. Now is a good time to pop in if you are after a restock, or even just bait. Remember to mention that you are from the Club, as he has been is one of our sponsors for 13 years and can offer some discounts. Well done Andy, great improvement mate.
  18. Well done Boys
