  1. Just amazed Rob has not commented, is he well?
  2. Thanks Greg Lets hope that we get the weather see you out there and at the BBQ
  3. Thanks guys this year we are going with Wills son Stuart who hopefully knows how it all works, including control through a phone [which eats battery life] or by the remote. I am borrowing Dan's camera and all of his attachment's, we may even squeeze the pole in the rod tube. Dan and I bought extra batteries and a double charger, so hopefully that should not be an issue again. the best shots last year were shore ones with the camera on a small tripod. The bigger fish on the boats took too long to get in and need to start stop the camera too often.
  4. Mike have a look at Halco Max 130 or even better the new larger one. Halco Max 190 which come pre rigged with better hooks They were so good shore and boat last year, we imported some more 130's direct from Australia. http://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/products/halco-max-lure-190-size.html
  5. Shit or bust Sam, shitvor bust. Good luck in Norway Chris Going back for the big one? The 4/0 swivels are rated to 400lb
  6. Just ordered some serious terminal tackle that was not available locally Some interesting lures, super strong split rings and inline hooks from jigabite Heavy trace line that is good to tie even at 375lb bs, crane swivels to match and some monster circle hooks up to 14/0. From UKHooks All ordered on Monday and arrived by today. Also when on route to Torquay picked up more inline hooks and clips from Weymouth Angling Centre If Members are tackling up for holidays or the Poole Bay monster, I would recomend these three sources
  7. Hi Greg Looking at the forecast for Sunday, have you any thoughts about starting an hour earlier while it is calmer? We could move into the harbour later if the wind builds There are only a few boats to confim details with, any thoughts from the other skippers/Dads/Grandads Charlie
  8. Thanks Adam 4 days before we take it on holiday Will and I might even remember the tips
  9. Hell of a lot of wake and wash generated But you would have to question the construction of the "marina". Was it fit for purpose without piles to take the load. Italian red tape is immense, so I am surprised that it failed. I am sure that even if the cruise line have to pay to rebuild , it is a much cheaper option than the liner going aground and having to be repaired, passengers compensated etc. I am sure that would run to a much higher figure than the estimated damage costs quoted. I am also sure that Cobbs Quay is constructed better Graham, thrust away
  10. Happy Birthday dogfish Have a good one.
  11. Nice Adam Get a feel of the trip started choppy and calmed down. Need to learn how to edit go pro clips
  12. Sorry Rob I think I miss read that, we only had Jayden fishing last comp with 2 rods. Well except for the odd cast with a light spinning rod. If we get good weather we still hope to take Jack on the 11th, it will need his Mum to look after him as he isnt 3 yet. And if we get out of the harbour it will be hard to resist fishing a rod myself.
  13. We did that on Sunday Rob But if I do not get out before the 11th , I cannot see it happening again on the next junior comp.
  14. Thanks Greg Jayden caught a lot of little harbour fish for his points. Well done the other Juniors that have joined in so far, lets hope the weather on the 11th allows the rest to get afloat.
  15. Great work Jim Must invite you out with us sometime Have you seen the drone fishing on you tube?
  16. Hi Greg Is that from the chain ferry inwards? Always good to have an exact limit to work too If so remember the nursary area for Bass guys and girls
  17. Hi All Apologies I misread an email at work and passed on duff info. Hope that the weather plays ball on Sunday and we can get afloat with Jayden and Possibly Jack Tight lines all
  18. Please be aware of powerboats racing in the bay Oli has put up another thread on this and I have just received to following Dear all To answer your enquiry, details of our racing in Poole Bay are as follows: 09:45 – 11:00 Large boats passing through the bay on a course SW Shingles - Boscombe Pier – Bournemouth Pier – Peveril Ledge. 10:00 – 11:30 Smaller boats passing through the bay on a course Hengistbury Head - Boscombe Pier – Bournemouth Pier – Perenco Wytch Farm – SW Shingles. 15:00 – 16-30 Larger boats pass back through the bay on a course Peveril Ledge – Perenco Wytch Farm – Needled Fairway. In addition I believe the P1 boats will be racing in the area around the piers all afternoon but Robert Wicks can proide further detaisl of this. Please get in touch if you require any further information. Best regards Rob Andrews
  19. Probably right Adam Even my best day on the turbo's was hardly exhausting. In fact the first fish on the way home was a medium sized Pollack in 50m of water at the French holes and outfought them all. In fact the Nannal's pollack fight harder. Still a good result though, to go fishing and be knackered from catching so many is a fisherman's dream come true.
  20. "Just about recovered from hauling turbot" Bit of an exageration mate, in may I was using my bass spinning rod, they hardly pull your arms off.
  21. Well done Adam It has been a bit fresh here all day. I hope that you get a few Bass and Turbot for your efforts, are you staying with mark or on board?
  22. Thanks Greg Hope that you are all having a great holiday.
  23. Hi Greg Can we please see a list of results from the first junior comp. Please also put my grandson Jayden Wald down as fishing on Alfresco for the next two rounds. If the weather is right we may even have his little brother Jack onboard as well on the 28th August. Thanks
  24. Not this time Steve Getting a bit close to our holiday
