Glad that the chap got picked up and is OK But this is why I am a fan of compulsory training prior to being allowed to take a boat out, like they do on the continent. The boat looks to be well fitted out, but as Steve says "All the gear and no idea" This is why our Club is so keen to maintain the ethos of training and safety, using experienced Members to offer advice and lead on to more formal training.

Great pictures Lofty and a really good read I wish I had bothered to keep a more accurate log and taken lots of pictures, as I used to when the boat was first launched. I may need to look in the on board log and at the tablet pictures.

Tight lines guys. After recent family events, I decided to take an early decision to help Dan and Chrissy lay their laminate flooring this weekend. Its going very well and we are half way through the job. Dan and I will not doubt be very keen to see the results tomorrow, hope the cod are hungry for you all and the forecast is right.

Have volunteered to help Dan at his house, and stood crew down.

That cover is not man enough for a deck fitting and would not have been an original fitting as its cracked I would expect it to be the problem, leaves you with a lot of work to get the water out from the foam. Just about impossible without taking up the deck

Hi I used to own a Wilson Flyer 17 Mine was a bit heavier built than the usual layup I originally fitted it with an old 45HP and it was a lemon, engine change to a new 60HP 2 stroke and it was a different boat, back to a flyer. Later on I took out the bulkhead and lifted the soft floor, doing so I found some foam under the deck that had soaked up water over its lifetime. Removing it was a pain but it was so heavy that it had to go. new flooring fitted and a console instead of the bulkhead made my old boat a hell of a lot better. the reduction in weight made a huge difference to speed and economy. You need to get that wet foam out Ash, before deciding if the engine is big enough Hope that helps
