"amazed at the amount of muck that came out of the Seagull" That's why they are called Shiite Hawks.................
  4. Hi guys, time to start planning for our Charity Open Lets try and get as many club boats out as we can and see if we can encourage as many juniors / wives / friends to join in. If each boat can take out a couple of people that are not 'match' fishermen - then we will all have an equal chance of doing well. Remember first and foremost it is for Charity. It also needs to be fun and it is also a social gathering with food supplied. MDL sponsor this to the value of £1000 to cover food and prizes and Rob puts in a lot of effort with a number of sponsors that usually means that everybody taking part gets a prize. It's not all about winning - it's about taking part. Please join in for a fun day out Neal
  5. This weekend was / is supposed to be the club 48hr Competition Starting 6pm Friday - until 6pm Sunday, a best specimen competition Their is a £5.00 entry fee - with cash prize for first second and third My apologies for posting this late. I would like to re-schedule this for a later date - probably in August, hopefully to coincide with a nice period of settled weather Cheers

    Bar Joke

A guy walked into a crowded bar, waving his 1911 Colt pistol and yelled, "I have a .45 Colt with an eight shot clip and I want to know who's been screwing my wife?" A voice from the back of the room called out... "You'll need more ammo!"

    Alderney

Hi Kam, I assume you are going on one of the charter boats - so follow the herd! A number of places near the harbour........a short "high street" of sorts - all pubs and restaurants and a convenience store. Harbour Lights halfway? up the hill on the left. Further up, Thai and Indian. then main street fish and chips! and others, then finally in the main square the Marais Hall - by far my favourite. Always busy, food excellent don't get there too late! Neal
  15. Roger, Their used to be a load of them in various states of repair at the bottom of Turks Lane in Lilliput By the Sea Scouts / Cadets? hut - bit like an unofficial owners club If they are still there - pop down and have a word with someone - or phone Kevin Dixon on 07816 629915 He may be able to help you Neal
  16. A or B Martin makes little difference - however I would recommend that you try and get a berth as near to the Clubhouse as possible. Not just getting on and off quicker with all the gear and closer to the bar......... The wind and tide effects are substantially reduced and make berthing much easier - particularly with a new boat Enjoy the new toy.... Neal

  18. We went to Dancing Ledge for the comp but we struggled to find anywhere near the quantity we had last year. Once we had located a few on the fish finder and dropped anchor - Mike Fox was into them before I had even started to get my rod ready! The fish we were catching mostly seemed to be either females that had already spawned or males that had not got the vivid blue marking. I managed however to get one large female early on - weighed in at 3lb 9oz - which was enough to secure first place in this years Poole bream comp. Club members were very well placed in this comp as few of the Charter Boats entered - Results from Poole Sea Angling Centre Bream Comp - PBSBAC Members 1st Neal Sturt 3lb 9oz 2nd Kev Couzens 3lb 2oz 3rd Jan Triska 2lb 13oz 7th Dave Lynes 2lb 11oz
