    Solent Fisher

what a great little package, and what a price! I actually love the catherdral hull. It provides such a safe fishing platform for a small boat. It looks like an updated version of Gnasher, my old Dori Capri 15.
  3. or tarpon in the uk Just having a laugh Tom
  4. Similar(ish) to a whiting with the black 'devils' thumb print on the body. i wish i wasn't a sceptic, but hopefully i am wrong as i would also love to target them. Good luck terry and i wish you plenty of luck catching another, but i would keep the mark to your self for a while or you would have hundreds of boats on it!
  5. hmm, i've never heard of haddock in christchurch bay Does someone know something i dont?

    cod

The cod are here A mate done pretty well today, and in club waters And i know a charter boat that had multiple catches in the last week Sorry, i can't say where exactly, but i think i will be having a bash in the next couple of weeks.
  7. yes Al, i saw the larger of the 11's, a very long fish, but with little gut. I was chatting to Si and he mentioned you as we had a bit of a chat about boat fishing!
  8. Not from th boat, but it makes me only the 3rd angler to have ever caught two 8lb plus chub in their lifetime from the UK. Anyway, i think i will get back out on the boat soon for those winter species that i think will be pushing inshore soon!
  9. smaller fish
  10. again, i dobt anyone is interested, but these pics are from tonights chub fishing trip on the dorset stour. The top fish is exactly 8lb and the bottom (longer, thinner fish) is 7lb 7oz. The biggest brace of the season in uk!

    Speed

oh, for a moment i thought you had hooked something that went off at high speed before under taking a long battle with a beast from the deep:ph34r:
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IALJXP8LaS4 Not fishing related, but brilliant.....so funny
  13. All this talk of smelly 2 strokes I have one but I think i am slightly odd as i love the smell of burning oil, especially on a cold crisp winters day when i am just chugging up the harbour ready to hit the cod grounds! Ok, i think i may be the only1 with that fetish but it certainly helps set the scene. I have bee out with Paul D a few times and his etec seemed pretty cool, and the fuel consumption was umbelievable! Yes Rob- efficiant!
  14. well, i dunno quite how i managed to get on the list. ive only fished 2 comps Danny
  15. sorry chaps, i would love to join you, but i am doing 16hours straight at work that day
  16. codling getting caught along the shore at milford and barton to!
  17. Diawa Vitesse in 8lb class. I have a pair. they are very thin blanks, deep burgandy in colour, look the dogs and are one of the best light boat rods i have come across! I have both of mine in the 7ft versions. A real bargin of under 50quid!
  18. Thanks Martin. Comment sent. I urge others to do the same!
  19. I doubt those goons actually know the differnece between a male and female catfish and anyway, i would have thought if you put your hand in the 'nest' with plan 2 grab it, you would prob get bitten anyway, whatever the sex. And the tuna caught were for the pot, so not a real worry, but to gaff the shark was idiotic!
  20. i watched it even though i said i wouldn't and the show was a disgrace! infact the worst IMHO was the catfish being yanked out of the shallows by hand whist they were laying eggs!
  21. Happy birthday matey! Dan
  22. well it was my bday yesterday! with no comments at all, im glad 2 see that mike has 5 messages so far, showing he is 5 time more popular than me so far and he doesnt even log in and use the forum! haha

    Winter Fishing

middle nov- middle Jan is my fave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I prefere it to summer fishing. Inshore for cod, conger, whiting, and the odd jumbo bass (Alun J style!)! Last year was pretty much a 12 month fishery though with boats also catching decent fish in feb, march and early april!
  24. he is a noddy!!!!! And i have it on good authority that one of our best known faces can't get his 5 episode programme commisioned but robson green can! robson green presenting a fishing programme is the equivilent of john wilson starring in soldier soldier! I certainly won't be wasting my evening watching it!
