The mods may move this thread to another section- depending on species mate. My ray mark is flat, no bumps whatsoever, but just thick mud. Mullet, gars, maccy, bream, dogs, smoothound, pack tope can be caught over any bottom. A rocky outcrop, or lumps and bumps on bottom will help if you target conger, bass, wrass, bullhuss, etc Bait is important, but squid will take 95% of the species we target. Terminal tackle wise, you can get tecnical but a simple running rig will take most species. Keep asking the questions mate, the lads in here are very helpful.

I may be tempted to go for some bass tonight if anyone wants to join me. Im not worried if i dont as i'l do some carping but i can have my arm twisted if anyone wants to try. Either christchurch on lives on hurst on artificials and maybe a quick drop down for a smoothie (i have some squid) Split fuel costs......but the offer is there. beginner or expert, im not fussed.

The clan is pretty good, i would rather fish it from xchurch though as its only 4 miles from xchurch entrance. Plenty of pack tope on it in summer (maybe a bit early yet), a few dogs/wrass gurnard etc. Quite a few eels there, i have had my pb eel of 52lb from it, and i also had the joint club record bream of 5.2 from there. Not really a mark for pollack or the like, but a few bass get landed from time to time. If its poor, drop back in about a mile and a half and try xray for some skate. Always a banker when other places are poor. The wreckage is very spread out, and most of it is covered up with sand and gravel, so its just big lumps off the sea bed. I'l pm you the numbers later.

that is quality............but how true.......i gave the missus the same ultimatium on Bank holiday monday just gone......... I soon got my fishing pass for the night but hard luck for claire, the tackle shop ended up being closed and i couldn't get squid so the trip was cancelled:lol:

check the jokes section, djredrupp has posted some areas on there Ive pm'd you a bit of info, but most of the areas are clear on the charts. Most tidal races will have fish in it really, but look for shallow(ish) water, a distorted bottom and a nice tide rip and there will be fish there.

Hi Alun, I have these small boarding steps you can have free of charge mate. The bottom step has a crack, but ive been up and down on it plenty of time and its still solid. If you can't borrow Charlies, you are more than welcome to have mine as they are not needed. Im working this evening at New Milton Health and Leisure, Gore Road New Milton, and am off on Thursday and Friday, so you can collect from Hordle. You can have first refusal but if there no use, they are free to any club member. Danny
