hmm.......Bass conservation!!!! OK lads, im not like some of you who put all bass back(OK, i dont catch any) as i like to eat what i catch, as long as its not over the top, but check out the pics on deepsea.co.uk as there is a pic of loads of bass caught aboard Lady Godiver, and they look small!!! They look about the size of my biggest which isnt very big at all. Personally i find the pic well over the top and would probabbly pi$$ a few of lads who are trying to protect fish from scenes like this. check it out, would be interesting in some views (Fishy notice board on deepsea)

He goes to the bar and says "escuse me mate, have you seen my brother" the barman looks back and replies, "im not sure, what does he look like"

its getting towards that time again when the maccy are dissapearing, although i did mention that there is still some round hurst way. So the question is, whats the best way to fish artificials for the bass? Plug fishing is a doddle, but just after tips when drifting with a shad or eel. What sort of results will i get drifting rag worm baits or should i stick to the artificials? I presume i fish a longer trace, but what do i do? Leaving the rod in the rests and dragging the thing along the bottom just dosn't sound right. The plan is to drift the out skirts of hurst this week sometime as there are some good bass reports comming from there.

still maccy about around hurst. a mate was pulling in full strings yesterday afternoon beach casting from the shore. He also had a couple of decent bass on plugs

it could be paul, it is very close to the ignition box. The wire screws in to the box and i have a feeling that and i think it could be the box end that has the bad connection. im not sure just how much i will have to replace if it is

i have an electrical problem with the main power line that runs from the key ignition to the outboard. The key end of the cable has a break in it somewhere and to start the outboard i have to wiggle the wire as i turn the key. Any ideas how i can find out where the break might be without cutting the wire? Is an electrical tester kit expensive?

oh not again!! it was last septembers high winds that put my then boat 23ft peachy down. She never recovered!!!

nice one colin, was the thorny from southbourne rough or form the mark where i gave u the numbers for? Those pesky bream are a pain down there at the moment, there tiny and rip baits to shreads in seconds

I think its time that i stopped fishing at anchor and have a go at my 1st bass, well done adam and the rest of you lot on a right result, even in a small tide, I was out this morn, at muddiford at 5am and drank coffee until the sea mist lifted and the sun just started to lift, a beautiful morning to say the least, Headed over to southbourne rough, loads of maccy, but the plan was to tie to a pot bouy and bottom fish for a big ray. Couldnt tie up as the boats were out lifting the bouys and empying the pots, so fished at anchor. Dog after poxy dog, we even caught a dogfish that had two stainless size 6/0s in its gob from a previous capture, i bet he was glad he was caught again as who knows how long the metalwork has been in its mouth for, all safley removed. My dad then lost a decent fish, probabbly a good ray that took a while to lift off the bottom, then just hung in the tide using its weight against the flow, sadley the hook slipped. 10 mins later, and he gets a repeat, and drops another. I then landed my 1st cuttlefish, reeling in a large maccy bait, i watched it chase it all the way to the surface, and i spent another 10 mins dapping the maccy on the surface until it was well and truely sucking on it before bringing it to the net, boy do they spit some ink, i wont try and get one again!!! A few bream on small rag baits, before a whole maccy gets chomped and the light rod hoops over and line spins off the drag, a short but spirited fight and i say hello to mr Tope. Not a bad day, no ray though. It seems the only bait the doggies struggle to take is 3/4 of a jumbo or even a whole one, anything smaller and it dosn't last more than 2 mins in the water without getting chomped, squid is even worse. Any ideas to temp something different without using a huge bait that needs a couple of 8/0s to hold it in place. Maybe have to just be patient!!

Just don't get lost again!!!! Failing that, i can defo go mon morning, either west out of lymo to try 4 a stinger, or if we can get some live eels, try drifting hurst for a bass. P.S ive drilled the holes on Gnasher for the 4 new rod holders, if your around 2moz, can you dump a few nuts and bolts in the garage from the tool box so i can fix the holders on proper.
