  1. why dont you just chain it up by muddiford slip?
  2. The plan is for a 5am start, launching from Lymington, the question is, how do i fish the solent and what will I expect to catch? Im not planning on going for the smoothies, just want a few bites drifting very close in around the mud flats out to the west from Lymington. Any hotspots? Was going to just fish light with rag on a flowing trace. What species will be inhabiting close in?
  3. I am thinking of using a wire trace for most of my fishing as you never know what you will hook. From reading the posts it seems change the catch rate for most species, but will it affect the bass as they can be wary? If i fish at anchore with a maccy head and guts i am generally fishing for anything but would a bass still take it? Also if a conger spins, how would it damage the leader? Thats under assumption there is a swivel by the lead slider.

im trying to change my boat pic and put in a pic of my new boat Gnasher, but it keeps saying my menu is disabled and there is an error. Im trying to update my forum pic to the one below. Is there any chance the pic can be put in with members boats? I presume this question is for Paul D, but if anyone else knows how to change it, then please let me know. Thanks Dan Gnasher

  13. Nice one rich, nice report and a few different species aswel. I think the ray are taking a liking to livebaits as we had a big thorny aboard Gnasher last week and lost a couple aswel. Maccy flappers/chunks/squid, etc was being getting less bites than a live jumbo!! Dan P.S Dunno about using pie, tell me though is it Teh piemeister, or The piemeister?
  14. Glad someone had a result. Well done Mat.
  15. good fishing conditions, cr@p fishing. Gnasher steamed accross from Wick, we fished just North of Xray and bagged up on suicidal maccy. Then bottom fished whole squid, machine gun type rattles, continued missed bites, frustrated. Whatever it was, was just robbing bait in seconds, with out giving a definate pull. Put on a small hook, tiny bit of squid, and bream after poxy bream, a fish on with under a second of it hitting the bottom. Baited feathers and a whole string of them every time, all tidlers!!!! Steve lost a half right tope on a whole Jumbo maccy, whilst i added half a dozen dogs. Good 2 be out, but the fishing was a let down. Thats me done for a week now
  16. hehe, you send me to the wrong place and i catch a few(i know where it is, you were nearly right with the info you gave me). I not sure bout wed yet, maybe though, but tuesday defo. I want to fish from early afternoon, till dusk time if i can, will check the wind though. If its not to bad I want a bass. What time can you get out? Can meet you at Wick?

    Tue Pm

Im out from xchurch 2moz pm. Hopefully to try and snare my first proper bass, if not, some bottom fishing on xray. Any other boats out? or want to have a go?
  18. all very odd, and i don't really know what has happened with it all, anyway, membership sorted now!!! Im out 2moz pm from xchurch, let me know if anyone else is out. If weather is good, i fancy trying to crack the bass.
  19. I thought I was a member anyway as i sent a cheque off ages ago with a completed form. I recieved two forms and posted a cheque for 12 quid. If it wasn't received then i will put another one in the post. Hope im not paying twice though!!!

    Live Eels

is there any suppliers of live eels close to New Milton? If so what would i be espected to pay? Also how long to they keep in a tank? I think these will put me in with a better chance of a bass then a joey, as the little bass may have a go, and with me being a bass blanker, a few schoolies will to do nicely to get the confidence up. What is the best size hook to fish these on/trace length etc? I think they will be fished on a portland rig with fluro carbon. Anyone favour snood strengths? 15lb? thanks Dan
  23. my boat has no front hatch, so pulling up the anchore is hard, i have to pull it up as i havn't mastered the alderny method completely(learning though). The question is, if there is no front hatch to pull up from, what is the best retreval method? as i dont fancy pulling the rope in from the side because when the boat is pulled up to inline with the anchore she will be side on to the swell and send the boat all over the place. I could pull through the front roller, but the anchore wont be fastened and the chain wont pass through it anyhow. Dan
  24. fishing today, blimey, your brave, but if you missed the wind, then fair paly, you know what they say "fortune favours the bold" (oh no, i think that is a big brother quote!!) Good result though
  25. its a 14.5ft catherdal hull dory with a 28hp yammy on the back, i think i will give it a miss as i suspect i may be asking to much of her, might try the shambles instead depending on the weather, if not i may venture east out of Lymington and try for a stinger.
